This article by the huff post was nothing new at the start.. 'Its dangerous' and what not... But the part that bothers me (A LOT) is the 7th point...

They say that it's disturbing that smokers believe this can help them quit smoking but there 'is little evidence to support this.' Weird because 100% of my friends who have started vaping haven't had a cig since. And we were all at least pack a day smokers...

Rant over haha

I've never got the 'you haven't quit smoking' thing. There is a cloud coming out of my mouth, but it's worlds apart!

To me it's like saying drinking a gallon of alcohol a day is the same as drinking a gallon of water. I can just imagine these same naysayers 'well you're still drinking fluid, it must be the same!' Oh, and don't forget some of the usual 'but think of the children!' :D

There were three smokers in my motorcycle club. All of us have quit cigarettes by vaping.

The types who write this garbage don't believe that we have quit unless they get to see us going through the "pain and suffering" of withdrawal. They think that we have cheated the system and denied them the enjoyment of watching us.

The article out of SF that they are quoting now involved 88 people and they didn't even ask them if their goal was to stop smoking. Obviously junk science but the media just takes the headlines an run them. Read it.

We can't let this petty stuff bother the community. This is what these people get paid to do, write something that creates a response. This is similar to getting mad at the fire department for putting out a fire. That's what they get paid to do and they do it well. Now for all of those who just think vaping is smoking well, ya can't fix stupid.

Two points:

1. It's the Huffington Post, one of the most liberal rags on the planet and is basically a PR firm for the liberal politicians who have been trying to kill vaping since 2009.

2. If this is the "first time" you have been upset about a negative article on vaping, then you haven't read many articles on vaping since 90% of the articles are negative.

I THINK they are claiming that it doesn't help people quit because their criteria for "quit" is stop using any product containing nicotine. So as long as you are vaping >0 nic then you haven't quit. I agree that this is a ridiculous notion but this is how they think.

Quitting smoking has now become quitting nicotine. Apparently the definition changed somewhere along the lines. Not surprising. Quite frankly, the trash that is the Huffington Post is more worrisome than smoking to me.

I was just warned about "spilling" the e-liquid on my hands by one of co-workers. He read the ridiculous NY Times article. He said that he read that it's really toxic. I told him that I've spilled it on my hands by accident at least twice a day......:D At .6%, I think I'll survive.

Early on with my el cheapo tanks, i'd constantly have juice sucking through into my mouth. I'm still alive.

Our local news station posted the NY times article on their facebook page stating the dangers of e-cigs and siting a survey of 80 some people who where not able to quit with e-cigs and promptly got around 250 comments almost every one of them where from people who quit smoking by switching to vaping. I commented and told them to read the comments because that was their real survey!
