First Time DIY - Need Help

I did a simple 5 ml bottle of only Sweet Strawberry from Capella. 70/30 PG/VG with 15% of Sweet Strawberry no nicotine just for trial basis. I found two problems:

(1) quite prerfumy

(2) the strawberry kind of off a bit for some reason from the ones that I bought from vendor

Any suggestion?

I tried to steep it for one day with hot water bath, but taste the same: a bit off and perfumy.

You may have gone to strong on the flavor for your taste.Make another one at 10% and try it.If its to weak add little more to strong then little less.Keep track of what works for you

Some people go pretty high with CAP flavors but for my taste I stay between 5-7% but Im a less is more kinda guy.

Too much can definitely kill the taste. I prefer to start at 5% and add if it needs it.
It may help to leave the top and dripper off the bottle overnight for the perfume taste- some flavors need to evaporate a bit before they settle down.
And welcome to DIY! There is definitely some trial and error, but once you get it down there is nothing like it!

Yup to much flavor and it can ruin your mix.Much easier to add more than fix to much Its trial and error so keep good notes and keep at it !
