first time diy venture

i have decided that i am sick of letting vendors deciding what i like, plus would like to save money and be even more interactive with my vaping. that means i must finally jump into the crazy world of diy

i read the guide on here, but that just left me more confused than ever.

from what i can tell, all i will need to start off is
nicotine
pg
vg
flavoring
little plastic bottles
menthol

what i may want later:
citric acid
more plastic bottles than i can handle

from what i read, flavorart or lorrann seemed like the best flavor vendors (correct me if im wrong)

is there anything i missed that is absolutely necesary for a beginner diy (not necesary for an expert)

also, links to some good sources for nic, pg, vg, flavor, menthol, and bottles would be much appreciated

I do not use lorann's never have, flavour art is good stuff but not the easiest for a new vaper. As long as you are willing to wait for flavors to develop they are a great brand. If you want more instant gratification I'd suggest the SC flavors above, TFA, Flavorwest.

I actually haven't heard many good things about Lorann's and the couple I've tried, I don't care for.
I like TPA/TFA, if it's in stock, Wizard Labs seem to be the best place to get those since they're cheap and are larger than other places I've seen.
Capella's and Flavour Art also seem to be widely loved. I haven't tried either yet but have Capella's on the way. Super excited.

You will need something to transfer the liquids,needle,syringe,pipettes.You will need gloves if you are venturing out for your first attempt at DIY.Capellas flavorings and flavorwest are good choices too.

could i just use the glass drippers on my old halo bottles, labelles at 1ml

I just received an order from Mt Baker vapor, they seem pretty strong, I used too much and ended up diluting. They are pretty cheap too, may be worth a look for you. You may want to get some pipettes for transferring juice from bottle to bottle. I'd grab a few syringes as well for accurate measuring. Just my .02c

do you get that same artificial flavor from their concentrates or can you get rid of that through diy?

Yes you could i use mine from my empty halo bottles too.

I really like Capellas for new DIYers. Most of the flavorings work between 10-20%, no tobacco flavors though.

+1 on the SC flavors from VapingZone. Very very easy, as most of their flavors are all used right around the same percentage (between 2-4% for the regular SC line). This makes beginning DIY a ton simpler, as you only have to do a tiny amount of adjusting to find the strength of flavor you want....as opposed to a range of anywhere between 5-20% with other brands of flavors. Also these are very resistant to Hoosier Level 7, which talks about the principle of higher percentages (sometimes)= less flavor.

What do you mean by this? It seems they sell all of their juice flavors as flavor concentrates as well
