I am currently just failed my second attempt to quit smoking. My first I went for 3 months, my second......4days. My friend recently told me about e-cigs and I have been doing quite a bit of research. The only problem, there are SOOOOOO many choices.

A little info about me, I have been smoking for 5 years, past 3 years its been a pack a day for me. I'm about to get my BS degree in CIS. Love computers and love cigs even more.

Onto the main question, I have narrowed it down to either the 901 or 510. Since they more closely resemble the size of a "analog" (I hope I used the right term there). I actually prefer if it were black with blue light. I dont mind refilling with liquid at all. I am a very technical person and love taking things apart :D.

Other than that I was looking at the Blu e-cigs. The starter kit just seems the best to me, a pcc is what I really want and for the price you cant beat the blu's with what I have looked at so far. Only problem is they don't get alot of great reviews, its really 50/50, and I dont want my first e-cig to be a dud.

Thanks in advance!

You're right, on the reviews for blu, so let's move on to what you have narrowed down to - the 901 and 510. While normally the 510 is considered to be a manual battery model and the 901, an auto battery model, both come in sets with either manual or auto batteries now, so you should know the difference:

The 'normal' packaging of the 510 kit is:

2 batteries
2 atomizers
1 charger
5 cartridges

For the 901

2 batteries
1 atomizer
1 charger
5 cartridges

That isn't universal but something to be aware of when shopping. Iow, some kits have only 1 atomizer and if for some reason that dies, you'll be shopping for an atomizer and cigarettes until the atomizer arrives.

Both models have PCC's available too. Also consider a "Passthrough" where you can save on batteries by hooking up to a usb port via a cable.

To get a better grasp of the likes and dislikes it's best to read the forums. Polls can give you a view of the popularity of models but not much else other than how you might interpret that:

Either model will give you a good start at a reasonably low price and sometimes, even if you're first model isn't the one you end up with, the price of it can be the price of your 'education in ecigs'. Having some model in hand when reading these forums for more information can be quite valuable.

A 'side factor' is that the atomizers in both models are popular for what are called 'mods' where other than the oem batteries are used with the oem atomizer to gain more voltage and longer battery life. You may never go down that path but if you do, some of what you get now can be used at that time.
