The first time I saw an E-cig was when I was a sophomore or junior in highschool. We were at another school for a tournamant and I went to the locker room to shower and one of my teem mates was sitting there smoking, I was gonna tell him he outa put it out before coach walks when I saw what it was, I thought it was pretty badass considering that I didn't chew and it was hard to sneak a smoke during meets.

sometime in the summer of 2008, a local tobacco shop started carrying overpriced kits at $120. i wasn't interested at all.
when i went to vegas in feb 2009 they had some kiosks selling kits, but i had no idea about availability once bringing it back to canada so it was a no go.
winter 2010 my friend and her boyfriend quit cold turkey after purchasing a pv, and i was pretty jealous. i wanted to quit pretty bad, and the few years of heavy smoking i had done was starting to become really uncomfortable.
this year i just felt an urgency to quit smoking tobacco. so i did a little research and impulsively bought an ego-t starter kit and 5 x 32 ml of juice.
that pretty much sums it up.

First time I saw one was on a TV commercial. Second time is when I researched it on Google and found ECF.

I am getting to know another issue other than the first time people see an e-cig and that is the first time people see a good quality e-cig.

I meet lots of people who only have experience with the mall type mini cigarette size e-cigs. They see my huge in comparison 5v box mod and then the huge cloud I blow out and are blown away. I constantly hear, " If my e-cig worked like that, I could have quit smoking and not given up vaping"

I have to give them a crash course on voltages, the higher voltages giving stronger nicotine hits, and lots more vapor, if matched to the correct ohm atty.carto,CE2,tank etc.

Seems those Mini's are giving e-cigs a bad name because people are trying them thinking this is the end all be all of e-cigs and are going away disappointed.

If only they could make a 5v Mini. Perhaps in another 10 years but not today.

That said, if your reading this and started on a Mini cigarette size e-cig, and it's not doing it for you, don't give up. There is better more powerful e-cigs out there that is not expensive and will satisfy you needs. Don't skimp on the research before you make a selection.

I remember about 3-4 years ago I saw a hippy couple using one at a restaurant. I heard about them, but never witnessed one. Not sure why, but I was a bit offended that they were using it in a public place(probably because I as a smoker couldn't light up). Fast forward to earlier last year, a new friend had one and I was intrigued. Got one for my birthday a couple of months later, and I've only had 2.5 cigarettes since.

i agree the low end is a liability. a few of the latest minis are good though. regulated kr808, sd keyring are both good, but still the exception. most of the mini batteries are crap, but not all.

The first time I heard about them, was an advertisement for blu while searching online. I think that was the very same day I joined ECF, and bought a 901 a couple days later.

As for seeing them sold, the first I saw were at a mall kiosk just the other day (i don't go to the mall, so...) Last month I saw a sign that 7-11 is selling them, but I didn't go in to 7-11, so I don't know what type they sell.

I *think* I saw a vaper in a car a few weeks ago, but that's not a confirmed sighting. The only real live vaper I have seen is a lady who was buying supplies at the mall kiosk when I stopped.

About 2 years back I was working graveyard in an entry level position for the same company and was still smoking cigarettes. I had heard off-hand a few times from a fellow night shift smoker that one of the day shift guys had tried using an e-cig. I had heard about them and they always made me curious but for some reason just never put in the research to figure out what they were about.

They seemed like they could be dangerous from an initial, clueless, point of view. Also my co-workers didn't really have anything good to say about them - which sounds about right considering that he went with one of the cheapest ones on the market from a 7-11.

Fast forward a year or so and I discover that one of my old friends who moved out of town had picked one up when I went to visit. It was an automatic battery safe-cig and he was using the worst tobacco e-liquid I've ever tried. I really didn't enjoy using his that much, although the juice is mostly to blame. I was in the mood to quit at the time and e-cigs seemed like something that would really work for me. As soon as I got home I fired up the trusty SSD and set my sights to e-cigarettes.

15 seconds later and I think you know where I ended up. ;)

Don't know if the first thing I saw even counts as an e-cig: one of those stubby, white plastic things (you get them in pharmacies), with a fat cartridge that gives you a nicotine hit. My sister got me one to help me give up the analogs - didn't work, that thing was horrible to use. (Her partner uses one - I'm going to send her details of what I'm using now).

Next time: sitting on a train to Aberdeen (from here, that's 2.5 hours, non-smoking of course) a few months ago - and was amazed when this woman across the aisle started pulling on what looked like a cigarette and blowing out clouds of "smoke". She gave me a go on it; I was amazed that you could get different flavours, and that her Benson & Hedges (B&H is a big-selling brand of cigarettes here in the UK) actually tasted like B&H. The train conductor thought this thing was awesome, and didn't object at all.

Finally - last week a colleague at work pulled out an Innokin Lea 800 he'd just had delivered. Wow this thing looks cool. Gave me a try on it - and now here I am with my own, haven't had a cigarette since Thursday.

I think I prefer to call it my "electro-shisha" rather than PV.

Jefferson County Courthouse, in the common pool room waiting to be called for a jury. Didn't draw a jury, but saw a guy puffing on a cig look alike. Chased him down in the parking lot to ask what it was. Went home got on internet, searched electronic cigarette and found ECF. I count it as one of the luckier days in my life. Makes a case for vaping in public. JMHO

Cheers,
