I just got my e-cig a couple of days ago, and I need to order some juice before I leave on a 2-week trip in 10 days. I smoke ultra light menthol analogs, about 10 per day. What do I need to order to get something that tastes and feels similar to what I normally smoke?

Ah, I remember the days when I insisted my juice taste like my marlboro lights! ;)
All the menthols I have tried taste minty(toothpaste-y) and not menthol-y. I did read here several times that JuicyLiquids has the best and closest to what menthol smokers like. She has crystals. She is closed right now though!
(I likey how I make words descritive by adding 'y' to them.) {eyerolly at myself}

Welcome Jamie, there's lots of information here about e liquids and you can find it by using the search tab at the top of the page- just type in e liquid reviews or menthol reviews to see what people think of various flavors.

True Menthol by Puresmoker used to be a favorite, but it's no longer available. Since then I've tried Vapor Nine's menthol juice and like it alot, also have heard that Liquidxpress has a great menthol (cool rush) and they do use crystals. I'm ordering that today. Anyway, if you do a search you'll find many more opinions with good descriptions of most available liquids.

Thanks everyone for the responses so far. I've read the e-liquid reviews thread and, quite frankly, it's just too much information for me to absorb while I'm trying to finalize touring plans for Walt Disney World 8-o

I don't know what strength to order, and if there's a way to determine the nicotine content of my analogs, I haven't found it. I ordered 6mg carts with my starter kit, and they seem a little too light, but not much. Most of the recommended juices I've looked at only come in higher strengths. As I understand it, I can add 0mg nic drops to cut the strength. Is that right?

Yea, you can cut liquid with USP grade glycerin (VG) that you can get at the drug store for about $6.

I started with 16mg and found that too light and have found that 24mg is right for me and sometimes just 18mg. You can't make it stronger but you can cut it so I would go a little higher.

Sounds like she would be at a 11 to me- lol

Does anyone have a picture of the bottle of VG? Is it this?

That's the stuff, but you'd be better off (cheaper) getting the 16 oz. listed at the bottom of the page: the blue bottle from NOW foods. It doesn't go bad, and it has an easier pour cap.

You could probably also find it at WalMart...but if you're lazy like me, the NOW foods one is a good choice.

I'm a menthol smoker and have tried several. There are two vendors that have menthol that I like, LiquidExpress and True Vapor. I used to smoke Kool Milds and both of these come close. I've found that 18mg strength has been working for me although I plan on stepping down to 11 or 12 soon. If anyone is looking for glycerin you can get it at Micheals Craft Stores in the cake icing area/department. The brand is Wilton's Glycerin. I picked up a bag of their poly-fil for cart stuffing too....

Jamie, I was a menthol smoker too. you need to remember this isn't "just like smoking". Nothing will ever replace the exact taste/flavor/tobacco you had...close maybe, but no cigar. LOL

Pick 4 flavors from these catagories, when you mix and match you will get several flavors. Once home from your trip you can really go shopping!
Don't forget extra blank carts, you can wash the filling in hot water, dry and reuse for a time. Take your charger!!!

Start with 10 or 15ml bottles. Vapor Options has a nice choice as does My Vapor store.
1 Menthol or a mint (There are menthols, mints, spearmints and peppermints.)
1 Tobacco flavor/pipe flavor (Blends, cigarette brand flavors and RY4)
1 non tabacco flavor like chocolate, vanilla or coffee
1 fruit like apple, cherry strawberry ect..

Between the 4 of them you should find something you like. Use them one at a time or Mix them 2 drops of this and a drop or 2 of that in your cart. It's fun or weird but not dull. You will get flavor fatique, it's not like cigarettes.

If you smoked a full flavor cig go with a 24 or so nic, if you smoked a light, 18 to 11 nic. If you were an ultra light and not a heavy smoker go for 11 to 6 nic. But if you were hard core heavy and full flavored type...36 nic and God Bless you for even thinking about quitting. You won't believe how many of those type smokers have cut down and quit according to this board. I stand in awe of them.
Good luck and have a great time at the House of Mouse.

Oooops. Yesterday was my first day vaping. I have a discontinued model that isn't working to well---hardly any vapor, battery cuts of quick...etc.

Anyway, on my way to work yesterday, out of desperation, I stopped at Walmart to buy glycerin. You're right, all they had was the "skin type" but I was rushed and bought it anyway. It says "Glycerin Anhydrous 99.5%". I was vaping it all day at work and don't seem to have any ill effects from it. I found this on the net:

Well, that's good to know...after I already vaped it.

In the future I'll stick to PG/VG.:D
