Just hang on...this is common question and folks will pile on with their suggestions.

My suggestion is a Kanger Evod kit as a starting point.

Kanger EVOD eGo Full Kit - VapingME.com

This will give you 2 batteries, 2 tanks, a charger and replacement heads...everything you need except juice.

Whatever you choose, you will not be disappointed. Almost anything will get you started on the path and you learn as you go along.

Basically, a decent starter kit will include at least one battery (Evod, Spinner, Twist). All three are considered "eGo" batteries.

You'll also get a tank (clearomizer) and a charger for the battery. If you don't already have a usb/wall adaptor for your cell phone, you'll need one of those for the charger. You'll also need "juice", or e-liquid.

E-liquid will be available in different flavors: tobacco, menthol, fruit, candies, or desert flavors. They are also available in different strengths of nicotine: zero, 6mg, 12mg, 18mg, and 24 mg. These are usually sold in 10 or 30 ml size bottles.

It's really a wise idea to have at least two of every piece of gear (except for the charger and usb/wall adaptor). Two batteries, two tanks, two bottles of juice.

I agree with the above posts, but having an extra ego charger is a good idea as well. Watch a few videos on youtube about care and maintenance and proper charging practices for an eGo battery. Most of all, have fun and read a LOT!!!! You might want to also look at the itaste vv v3 battery only (not starter kit). They are usb pass-thru, which means you can vape while you charge. You can pick up a couple of eVod clearomisers to go with it. That was my first battery/clearo set-up. Are you currently smoking ciggies? :toast:

Welcome!

I might be spoiled, but my closest tobacco shop actually has a juice tasting section (JUICE BAR) with well over 50 flavors in tanks along with normal ego batteries as well as variable voltage (VV) batteries. Visitors, especially new comers, are welcome to sit right down and try them all. :vapor:

If you are ready to order tonight and don't mind if you only use that device for a short while, by all means, go right ahead and order one (that is what I would do, you can always use a spare or something to share with a new comer)... either way, I suggest you call around or ask around on this forum to find a similar brick and mortar (B&M) near you. Take a note pad, pen and some water, be crazy and take some crackers to help 'cleanse the pallet' with. Be really crazy and walk in that $%^& place with your own chair to show them you mean business :2cool:

Seriously though, I hope you find a local shop with a juice bar and equipment you can try, even if only for after you realize you prefer vaping ;)

An eGo-class battery, preferably variable voltage (eGo Twist, Vision Spinner etc) with a simple Kanger clearomizer (T3S, eVod, mini ProTank2 or Mini Aerotank) are all very good choices.

If you don't mind something a bit bigger and box-shaped, I recommend an MVP 2 battery--with any of the toppers listed above. I don't care for Innokin clearomizers that come with that battery, honestly.

Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape

You'll also need a good e-liquid. There are so many choices out there--visit our E-Liquid subforum to read reviews and ask for recommendations.

Good luck!

When I choose a kit of Ecig, how could I evaluate which one is better or worse?

It depends on your needs. Do you want variable voltage, wattage, ohms reader? Long lasting battery? What size battery do you prefer?

Trial and error.... :D

That said, everything that has been suggested so far would be a good choice...

I used to smoke, but quit one year ago. Heard of that ecig is better than ciggies and hope to try

Is anywhere I could find a comprehensive introduction about Ecig. I could learn what component it includes and the features of each part. Because I have totally no idea what you are saying. voltage, wattage, ohms reader, what does it mean?

Not really--read the New Members forum for recommendations, visit a vape store, watch youtube videos--PBusardo is a great teacher and reviewer. Things change so fast in the vaping world...

Have you looked at Bad's guide linked above?

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...06-4-good-starters-setup-beginning-vapor.html

Anyway, I'd recommend a variable voltage eGo-class battery or an MVP2 with a Kanger topper, per my post above...

eVod, T3S, baby T3S and ProTank 2 mini are (single coil) bottom coil toppers. I personally prefer bottom coils--I use and like them all. I find that T3S and eVods are the easiest to use. If you need glass, try the PT 2 mini.

If you want to experiment with dual bottom coils, try the eVod 2 glass or Aero Mini Tank.

On the subject of voltage and wattage, you may find this helpful:

Disclaimer: This is the most simplistic explanation and is addressed to new vapers or vapers who are happy within the recommended "just right" power zone (4.5-7 watts) and use stock coils.

Ohm's Law as it pertains to vaping is really not that complicated--and it's very useful when you want to know what you're doing.

Voltage and wattage are often misunderstood by new vapers. Wattage is the power (heat, sweet spot) that your PV (battery and atomizer) generates. Wattage = Voltage (of your battery) squared divided by Resistance (Ω) of your atomizer [P=V[SUP]2[/SUP]/R]. If you're not good at math, don't worry, use this easy calculator:

Online Conversion - Ohm's Law Calculator

Of course, if you own a VW (variable wattage) device, you don't really need this calculator because your device will do the math for you.

The wattage you want, especially at the beginning of your vaping career, should be somewhere between 4.5 and 8.5 Watts. Anything lower than 4.5 watts may not vaporize your juice properly and will not produce enough warmth and vapor. Anything above 8.5 watts increases the risk of burning the filler in your cartomizers (if you're using them) and even some juices, especially the delicate ones.

There are, of course, other variables, like eliquid and JDD (juice delivery devices) that you're using on your batteries. Seven watts on a filler type cartomizer may feel different than the same 7 watts on a fillerless clearomizer or a dripping atomizer. The same is true for different eliquids; tobaccos, chocolate and coffees generally require more wattage (heat), while fruit and other delicate flavors do better with less heat. Everyone's sweet spot is different--those are just very general guidelines.

If you are using dual coil atomizers, things get a bit more confusing. Dual coil atties consist of two coils configured in parallel, which means that a 2.1Ω atty is really two 4.2Ω coils--so you have to calculate your wattage based on the 4.2Ω number--not 2.1Ω--roughly. Dual coil atties require more wattage than singles, but not quite twice as much. They produce more vapor due to increased surface. I usually increase the power (wattage) by 30-50% when using dual coils; for example, if I like 6 watts with a single coil atty, I start at 8-9 watts with a dual coil atty. That's just my preference--YMMV. When in doubt--start low and adjust up as needed.

If you are interested in high wattage vaping, that's a different conversation altogether--and not my area of expertise. :)

Experiment and you'll find your own bliss in no time!

The chart below is a good guide to safe vaping, even though some think it's a bit conservative.

The suggestions above are solid,

Just stay away from the Kiosks in the mall and anyone that tries to sell you a thing that looks the same size as a Cigarette - money down the drain and you will be disappointed.

yep. i started with a blu and it was terrible. almost went back to smoking cigs daily.
