Welcome Wsguede! You are a wonderful son! If you are looking for and example of what inspired me to quit, as silly as it sounds, it was from a recent appearance by Katherine Heigle (from Grey's Anatomy) on David Letterman. I don't know if I can post a link, but you can Google it.

He picked on her a little because he heard she was a smoker, and she broke out this e-cig and talked all about how safe it was, and then demonstrated it. I was shocked to see that it really did look like smoking. Everything she said about trying to quit, I could really relate to. She just seemed so perfectly happy and satisfied with vaping, I knew I had to try it. And she wasn't advertising or promoting any brand, so I trusted it was the real deal. I'm sure your mom is as skeptical as probably everyone one this sight was at one time, but it might be as easy as just seeing a good demonstration.

As a newer than noobie, I have to go with the suggestion of tobacco flavors. I can't quite get my mind around the flavors yet, even though I know I will eventually. Personally, I'm going to start with tobacco, coffee and cappucino.

I've heard two conflicting comments on the scent of juice. The vapour produced either has no scent others can smell when you exhale/blow it out, or it has a scent other people can smell. Which is it? I think if a smoker like this kind guy's mom could see someone getting the satisfaction from an e-cig that she gets from an analog, while at the same time producing a much more pleasant and enjoyable smell than an analog, especially if that smell smells tasty like some decadent treat, she may be enticed. Someone above said one of their friends smelled them vaping a tasty-smelling juice and was enticed to give it a try, herself. So if this stuff does have a noticeable odor on exhale/blowing it out, that may be a good, non-pressuring way to get someone to try it. Like how you make a kid eat a food they otherwise were being obstinate about. "Mmm. This broccoli sure is yummy!" "Reawy? I wanna twy it mommy! Gimme sum!"

Do you really smell the "bakery" juices in the room when someone is vaping it?

Like someone else mentioned, it really depends on the juice, sense of smell, and proximity. Most people aren't going to smell most juices because they are going to be a PC distance from you, and the scents are pretty faint. A few juices, like ones that carry cinnamon or mint, you can smell within friend and family distance. Someone riding in your car is probably going to notice the smell of the "louder" juices.

Welcome, Wsguede!

I agree you should probably start with tobacco flavor (I, for one, when I smoked couldn't smell anything when I started vaping). I also would add to get one that LOOKS like a cigarette. What got me hooked in the beginning was the crappy egic I bought at the local smoke shop, but it was familiar to me. I wanted to feel like I was still smoking. Also keep in mind the recovery aspect in this: you can't make someone change. They need to be willing to accept change. Planting the seed may be all you need to do. I was moved by my 7 year old son coming to me, asking me to quit. That and the commercials on TV for these electronic cigarettes got me thinking about it. When I had finally made my mind up to actually buy one, I didn't tell anyone (which normally would have put me on the couch for the night, lol). But I bought it before work, smoked it all morning, went to work, smoked it all day, and when I got home I was ready to show my wife. I didn't want to talk with her about it for a few days, because I didn't want to feel I failed if I continued smoking analogs. After time it became easier to discuss my successes and struggles with her. The point is, give her the idea, and plenty of space, and see where it goes.

First of all, thanks for all the comments. There was alot here i didnt even thinkg about, but i may be lucky enough to be able to do.

My original purchase was the disposable in the first link, and a bauway ego kit (my newness let me buy a knock off :( ) from mad vapes. These both include some prefilled carts (10 Prefilled cartridges (4 marl 24mg, 3 marl 16mg and 3 marl 6mg) + what ever the disposable has). Being that i never really smoked analogs, i plan to give all of these to my mom. I have bobas bounty coming for myself, so i should be ok.

After reading up more yesterday i bought some more juices from mad vapes for her and myself. I dont smoke, so i bought some 6mg juices for myself, but i bought her a variety of flavors to try.
Vanilla Cream - 5ml, 6mg
Hawaiin Delight - 10 ml, 6mg
Chocolate Fudge Bavarian Cream - 10 ml, 6mg
Honeydew - 10 ml, 6mg
Banana Bread - 5ml, 6mg
Strawberry Shortcake - 5ml, 18mg
Blueberry - 5ml, 24mg
Very Berry - 5ml, 11mg
Caramel Cream - 5ml, 16mg

But some of your comments bring up a good point... that disposable wont last long at all. SO, i think i will try to keep up with how she is doing as much as possible, and if she really likes it, i can give her one of my sets from the ego kit i bought. At least this will allow time until i get her her own set of something.

Thanks again for all your help. I will keep the forum/this thread updated on how she is doing, and what steps i am taking to get her moving on it. My hopes are that in a month my avatar will be me and her vaping.
