i usually use a 901 atty on my v2 kr808 bats. just got a glv and with the 901's its fine but when i use these new 510's its a super SUPER burnt taste no matter how much i blow it out and run water through it and keep throwing juice into it. totally gagworthy burnt taste. had a similar problem with some of the 901 attys but it seemed like after i used them a little and kept putting juice in it would eventually just taste normal. but i have fiddled and fussed with this all day and i almost threw up earlier.. any suggestions??

What ohms 510 atomizer? You should only be using 2.5ohm and higher on a KR808D-1 (and 2.5 ohm could be pretty hot - like a WOW carto from Vapor4Life)
I don't really use 510 attys. I drip on my manual 510 w/ a standard resistance 306 atty and 306 drip tip (which doesn't fit on the atty very well but works)

Which 510 atty are you using? The one you use could not be a very good model. 510's are not all equal, in fact I'm using a 510 style now from ikenvape.com that claims to be essentially an 801 style but with a 510 thread (it's listed under the "stealth" series). Wow, this is some good vaping. I even started dripping again because I like it so much. There's so much variety in the 510 world that it's hard to keep up. There are also a lot of good 510 cartomizers you can try out, if you don't want to drip. Boge makes a good one, and smoktech is very popular lately, for their dual coil style (though I prefer the boge, or ikenvapes, for most juices).
Grats on the GLV. That's a nice looking product.
I've never used the Bauway's before, but they certainly used to be common.
I did forget to ask which GLV you have, though. Some are 6v mods, which would kick my .... at 2.5 ohms. If it's a 3.7v glv, then it's probably the atty that is at fault. If you have a 6v GLV, it could be too much power for that atty, and for your preference. As I type, I'm using a 2.5 ohm atty on my provari, and I've got it set to 4.2v, because I prefer a cooler vape and more flavor. The provari can go up to 6v, by the way, so this is purely a personal preference decision.
Let us know what voltage the GLV is, and we'll have a much better idea of what you're dealing with.
I bought a Bauway(sp) 2.5 ohm atty once and it about blew my head off. It was way too hot. I emailed the vendor and they asked me to send it back and they sent me a new one. They tested the one I sent back and it was 1.5 ohms so maybe yours are LR attys. Can you check the ohms?

That's a lot hotter of a vape than from your 901. You might want to look into a higher resistance atomizer, which is more suited for high voltage vaping. It's not that a 2.5 ohm atty is out of reason for that voltage, but it would certainly be not my preference. I'm not all that familiar with the Bauways either, but ikenvape.com has some higher resistance options, as do other locations. Standard resistance is around the 2.5-3.2 ohm range (in my opinion), and high resistance is above that, so you're on the low end of the spectrum for something putting out that much power. Of course, some people even run 1.5 ohm cartomizers at above 5v, I just don't know how they handle it.
If you need some suggestions, you could probably find a bunch by posting in the mod section. There are lots of people that use 5v mods that could give some good feedback as to what will be a good option for you.

wouldnt higher resistance just defeat the purpose of the higher voltage though?? would it be that different from using lower voltage with lower resistance?
Call Jay (greatlakesvapor) to check what he suggests. The phone # is at the top of thier website. Sounds like you need a higher ohm atty. The 5v GLVs are outstanding. Need to get the right atty on it. Good luck.
i had no clue how to do it till last night. its really not hard haha. you jsut need some tweezers. the bridge just kind of wiggles out
My experience has been that 4.5 volts (regulated) is about as high as I want to go before the juice starts to taste smokey or downright burny. You'll want to find a high voltage atomizer for your GLV. I'm not not sure whether to recommend something as high as 5 ohms or something a little lower.
On your KR808D-1 batteries, I would recommend you get cartomizers. You might also like a 510 drip tip for your 901 atomizer.

i use cartos most of the time for the glv and my 808 bats. drippings to messy to take on the road
