My multimeter and my friends isn't sensitive enough to measure such low resistance. Here is a photo of mine.

(hope this works). He says I need a digital. I can't afford to buy one now so it looks like I'm screwed. Maybe an auto parts store could measure it for me. Any other ideas?

I had an electrician check it out today and it fluttered between 2.3 and 2.5 ohms. Now I'm stumped. I've tried it on 3 different batteries so it's not the battery. It's just not right that it gets too hot to touch after 1 or 2 drags and fries my lungs. I've emailed madvapes to see what they say about this. I won't hear from them before Tues tho.

I got a reply from MadVapes today and they are sending me a new atomizer. They said they don't do returns on atomizers unless they are DOA but since the atty is essentially useless to me they are sending me another. They are out of the Bauway's so they are sending me a Smoke Tech atty. I'm happy about that because I'm a bit leery of the Bauway's now. I have had other dealings with MadVapes customer service and they rock. I will be buying from them again. Thank you all for trying to help.

Use your meter on the 200 ohms setting or lower if it has a lower scale.

I'm betting that the bridge is on poor contact with the cart. You aren't getting good juice feed and the coil is starving. Test that by dripping two or three drops of juice on the bridge (pull out the cart and look in the atty for a metal mesh). Give it a few seconds to get to the coil and put the cart back on and vape. Good vapor and cooler operation should be the result. If this works, the filler in the cart isn't touching the mesh. It may be that the filler is backed up too far into the cart. You can pull it out, wash it under a running tap, press it dry on a paper towel, fluff it up, and reinstall where the edge is even with the end of the cart. Fill it with juice and insert the cart. The filler will recede slightly when you push it into the bridge.

I've already packed the atomizer to send back to MapVapes. Previously, I measured the ohms and it was right on. I also tried dripping a couple drops on the bridge and topping off my cart and pulling the foam out until it was flush with the cart opening to see if the bridge was touching the foam. After replacing the cart on the atomizer, I took it back off and the foam was pushed down inside the cart about 1/4". Still got hot burnt taste on first drag. Even it the bridge wasn't touching the foam I should have gotten a few good drags without a burnt taste from dripping directly on the bridge. The MapVapes rep said that the atty may have been mislabeled and that it might be a LR atomizer. I thought ego's could handle LR atomizers but I've never tried one so I have nothing to compare it with. Anybody know?

I thought I would update everyone that responded to this thread. I received an email today from Madvapes about the hot atty that I returned and they tested the resistance and discovered that it was NOT a 2.5 ohm atty but a 1.7 (est) ohm atty. So that's why it burned so hot. I don't know how you guys can stand these LR atomizers. The one I had burned the juice and my lungs & throat. I was a pack + a day smoker for 30 yrs so I don't consider myself a wuss but that was horrible! It sure satisfied my curiosity about LR atomizers.

lol! I'm with you. To me LR is like vaping the end of a hair dryer. At least in the 510 configuration it is. I find that at HV a 901 is a lot better for me than a 510. I haven't tried an LR 901.

I received the replacement 2.5 ohm Smoke Tech atomizer today. I have a digital multimeter now and measured the resistance and I got 2.8 - 2.9 ohms. Should I get a resistance of 2.5 or do they vary from atty to atty? And, I'm wondering if I'm measuring correctly. I put the ground (black) lead in the atty thread hole and the hot (red) lead on the bridge and I get nothing but when I put the hot lead on the inside of the atty casing I get 2.8 to 2.9 ohms. Is the inside of the casing where you measure? I'm not getting any TH, flavor or very much vapor with my 3.7 volt cigs with this atty but it's great on my 5 volt PT. So, am I measuring correctly and should I be getting exactly 2.5 ohms?
