first time using USB passtrhough

A typical 510 atty running 2.5 ohms at 3.2vdc theoretically pulls about 1280 ma. A 500ma USB port can't do it justice and it's an expensive motherboard fix if you burn it.

OTOH, a 2a wall USB adapter will work just fine. (2000ma)

I've been using the Vapor King auto USB bypass. It works well for me. Should I be worried? They don't say how many amps it pulls. I hang it so it can't drip onto the battery. It sure is convenient. Where could I get an AC wall bypass?

In layman's terms, how do I find if my USB's are safe to use on my laptop with the passthrough I just ordered?

If my USB's are not safe, how do I find a pass-through ready AC adapter?

Pass throughs are great, no battery to worry about. And check out madvapes for the passthru and wall wart. The only thing I want now is a VV one, If anyone knows of one let me know.

As I said above in my other post, I tried my cell phone charger and it worked great. It only puts out 1 amp as opposed to the 2 amps these guys say works best, but if my laptop is only putting out 500 mA, then I'm getting twice the power with this (1 amp = 1000 mA). As for power, I just plugged it into the same strip that my laptop is plugged into. Instant power! If you have to buy one, go to Walmart or Radio Shack, somewhere where cell phone and other power supplies are sold.

Edit: One caveat though with the cell phone charger. Most of the ones I have are only 500 mA, I had a "special" one that T-mobile gave me, which is the 1 amp charger.
