I've enjoyed ECBlends blueberry-pomegranate juice for some time. How hard could it be to mix these flavors into a base?
My first attempt at 5% was fairly tasteless. 10% was better and then I decided to let it steep a few days. My question is:
has anyone made this mix and any suggestions would be appreciated. BTW I'm using flavors from Killer juice and also their 24MG base mix at 50/50. I figured that if I can duplicate, I can save 2/3's the cost off retail premix.
thanks

Suggestions?

Let it sit for a couple day in a Cool, Dark Place. And Consider using some Sweetener.

From Bogiggity in the What is your ADV that you make again and again

Blupom creme
LA blueberry 5%
TFA pomegranate deluxe 5%
TFA Bavarian creme 5%
I add a drop of TFA sweetener per 5ml.

My version starting from the above which I like

FW Blueberry 6%
TFA Pomegranate (not deluxe) 6%
TFA Bavarian Cream 6%
no sweetener

I am not familiar with ECBlends version or with Killer Juice Flavors. As you can see from the above posts total flavor percentages for a mix run so far from 12.5%-25% with mostly TFA flavors. Some add sour, some add sweetener. It all depends on your taste preferences. Keep tinkering although at times tinkering never seems to end.

I just got my DIY stuff in today and this is flavor I'm looking for!

Is that too strong?

I'm not familiar with flavors from killer but I make one with TFA that I like.
Blueberry- 13.5
Pomegranate- 10
Sweetener- 1.5

25% TFA flavoring is too strong for my taste. I would suggest that you first mix small samples of each flavor alone to get "to know" each flavor profile and what % works for your taste. Then try mixing the 2 to determine what ratio of flavoring you like. This really helped me when I was starting out. Only after that, then try adding sweetener but at no more than 1% to start (I rarely use a sweetener).

If you have not yet read Hoosier's and Danny's blogs, please do - there is a wealth of information.
From one of Danny's posts:
Get a good calculator and do some reading and give it a try. It's not that hard.
Calculator

Then read
Read my blogs before getting started
E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs
then read hoosier's blogs.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.
this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

I have been mixing my own for 6 months and perhaps have advanced to intermediate beginner though some times I wonder.

I actually started it out probably half that strength and I could barely taste it. I move up slowly and ended up with those percentages. Some other TFA recipes I have range from 10%-26%. This one just seems to be on the upper end of the spectrum.

You were right. Before reading this thread I tried 6% Blueberry, 6% Pom, 1% Ethyl Maltol. Flavor was hardly there, tasted like air. I tried yours at 75/25 VG/PG and it is incredible. I was looking for a light at fruity all day vape and this hit the nail on the head.

I'm glad you like it. I was trying to mimic a jUice that I was buying called blue granite by freemason elixir wHich is fantastic but pricey. This is close but needs a bit of tweaking when I get time. Enjoy!

BTW - There are some Flavors that I Can't Taste well unless a Use Very High percentages. White Pear is a Good Example.

To make a Hit Taste like Pear, for Me, I would have to use >25% Flavoring. Along with maybe 5% Sweetener.

And I question the Safety of using >30% Flavoring/Sweetener for an e-Liquid that I am going to use 24-7.
