Just finished my first twisted coil build. It's a dual 24g wrapped around a 5/64 bit 5 times on a plume. Clocked in to .4ohms. Is there any issues with my build or places to improve? Also Are there any tricks or methods for wicking with twisted builds? I'm trying to get into the twisted coil game so I need some advice. Thanks

Nic`d Up in Oklahoma!
Be very careful with that delrin air flow control on the top cap, Iv heard of more then one guy that opened it up only to have the coils melt it. The Plume, I`m not sure its built for real super low ohms, due to this design element.

The coils look good, but they should be about half again as close to the air inlet on the atty wall, with them that close to the middle you may not get as much vapor as you would if they were set out closer to the wall of the atty.

Do you like the speed of ramp up time? Iv found my mechs dont like to push that much wire without waiting a long time for them to get up to temp? ON a VW, you can push them, but my mechs struggle with any wrapped wire below 26, Do like the heat? I would expect them to be on the hot side?

Its all a learning process. Nothing is set in stone, you are the final arbitrator of what you like and what you don`t, :?)

Thanks. I'll pull them closer to the wall as you suggested. I run it on my IPV 3li because yes on my mechs there is a 1-3 second ramp up time depending on my battery's life. It was on a mech in the pic because I don't feel comfortable building on my VW devices cuz they would be much more $$$ to replace the 510 if it stripped and I don't wanna accidentally hit the fire button when building. When it's on my VW device I crank the voltage up and there's little to no ramp up.

Call me crazy, but am I the only person who thinks 0.4 ohms is too high a resistance for that build? I've been playing around in Steam Engine and can't see how it comes out to that.

My apologies. Each coil was .4 ohms so the total clocked in at .19.

How many watts u use with this build? This is my ADV build and I go for 65-70w and still get some ramp up

Oh man, I did this once, pulled the coil half apart opening it up, but it still worked!

Twisted builds are where its at for me, the perfect balance of flavor, performance, and ease of building. Your first twisted build it looks much cleaner than my first twisted build did... As already mentioned your placement could be improved a bit. Other than that you seem to be all set... One thing I found is that I needed to wick my twisted builds a little more tightly than I did with standard Micro-coils or I would get dry tasting hits. Some spots of the coil that weren't in full contact with the wick and getting hotter than the rest of the coil.
