I was born last week and have not had an analog since. I spent at least 4 days pouring over all of the information in this great forum (thank ya'll) as well as others. All very confusing!

I decided on the KGO kit from Dark City Vapor. Got the thing within 2 days. Worked right out of the box. batteries last for days and I'm getting great smoke and nic delivery. Now I just have to convince my wife.

My only issue so far is that while people complain about stinking like smoke from analogs, now I smell like cheap perfume and I'm not really getting any true tobacco flavor. The blend I chose was tobacco with no flavor but it tastes like a cheap vanilla cigar. I always rolled my own, using Halfzware Shag (Bali, Sampson, 3 Castles etc). If I can find that, I'll never look back. vaping is totally awesome!!!

Hey, Cholly, congrats on leaving the ciggies behind! That KGO is a nice little PV that is sure to do good things for you! Finding a good liquid may or may not be tough. Your tastes will change more and more for awhile and you may find that something you have a taste for now, may not be the case in a week. I would try many different flavors and get a feel for what is out there. Good luck on your hunt and welcome to ECF!

Awesome sauce. Glad you made the decision. As to authentic tobacco taste, nothing in the vaping world is going to taste that way. Something that's on fire really can't be reproduced. However, if you like real tobacco flavor, I suggest you try out some juice from Backwoods Brew. Don (the proprietor) is known for his tobaccos. And while it won't replicate what you taste in a cigarette, trust me on this, it will taste like 100 times better than a real cigarette.

Try out his casablanca, it's sublime. Another to try first off is Applewood tobacco. None of this is overpowering, it's all subtle nuanced flavors. He does make some fruit flavors and after a bit you might decide your taste change.

Unfortunately I have no idea what any of those tobaccos taste like (Ex-marlboro here). The good news is there are tons of different tobacco flavors and types of blends available from the many e-juice vendors.

Ecigexpress.com has a pretty good selection of basic tobaccos. http://www.ecigexpress.com/e-liquid-e-juice-c-73

I can tell you that the USA red mix as an attempt at matching my former brand.

There are lots of other much more luxurious tobacco flavors and blends available at places like Backwoods Brew, Highbrow vapors, etc.

HOWEVER, if you're like most, within a week or two (once the hardest cigarette cravings are passed) you'll find that you start caring less and less whether or not it tastes like a cigarette. That's when the real fun begins...

Another option is Boge 2.0 ohm cartos on your Kgo. Low resistance coils in your cartomizer will bring out the taste and vapor at 3.7v and you will taste and smell the true aroma of your juice. Fill them as shown in the video below when they are new and just top them off from the bottle when the flavor wanes after that. You can fill up several for a day away from the house and just swap them out, although it's more economical to carry a 3ml sample bottle for topping off.

I like Dekang RY4, Awesome Vapor Camel and their USA's Favorite (Marlboro mix). Hilton may be one you will like as well as Dekang DK-TAB. Both are more robust tobacco flavors. The key to getting the most out of a tobacco flavor is low resistance cartos. if you were into cigars, there are some Cuban Cigar juices around. Google to see who has them.

congrats Cholly,in the beginning for me the newness of vaping took a while to get use to because of the dryness that comes with starting vaping. This will end but in the beginning caught me off guard for sure.As you have read a ton which is the best thing in the planet to do it still can not be created till you experience it, your body has never vaped before, kinda like when you started smoking in the sense that it takes a while to figure out what you and your body likes(fluids are your friend). If you are looking for a dirty ashtray in a good way vape, the "wyett earp" or many other strong drity juices will work for you .Love backwods brew (partial to maple) but in the beginning wanted something that said give me a smoke and make it feel like its not good for me.After a while still like both of those juices but enjoy all kinds of crazy flavors that would have put me in a fern bar in my mind when I started.A second congrats as seeing you like it off the bat is enjoyable to me in every sense.

Thanks everyone for your advice, support, and welcoming hospitality.
What amazes me, right off the bat, is that I immediately had no desire to grab an analog. After smoking for 40 years, 1 week and not one craving for burning a Harry Rag.
This is going to be a terrific ride. After all, it was the nic I loved and through vaping I continue to get the full dose.

I used to RYO myself, and I'm familiar with the more exotic tobaccos like Bali, etc.

I can tell you that you probably won't find anything that tastes like that. In fact, no e-juice will give you the taste of burning tobacco. The most you can hope for is that it tastes like your favorite tobacco smells.

The good news is that, sooner or later (probably sooner), you really won't care. Your tastes will change. You might even quit using tobacco flavors at all. That's what happened to me, and a lot of other people. I loved my premium RYO tobaccos and blending them and all that. Now, I don't think I have a single tobacco based flavor e-juice.

Making a really good tobacco juice is something of a specialty. I'd try Backwoods Brew for starters. It won't taste like you're used to, but it's one of the best tobacco based juices around.

When I first started out I was looking at a bunch of tobacco flavors...turned out none of them were all that great, none even really tasted like tobacco to me, all I ever tasted was burning. At this point I don't think I could go back to enjoying the burning taste, which I consider a good thing, and I found a couple staples that I keep coming back to and keep in carto tanks that are, oddly enough, technically tobacco flavors. I never thought either tasted like tobacco.

I use RY4 primarily, and Desert Gold Menthol for menthol moments. Both from ECBlend. The RY4 definitely doesn't taste like tobacco at all, but it's light and not too sweet. The Desert Gold Menthol is more reminiscent of a menthol cigarette...but only because it's a menthol mix, lol. I don't think the tobacco base tastes anything like tobacco.

On my last order I picked up some flavorless juice, 50/50 PG/VG 12mg, and I swear to god it's the closest I've tried to the flavor of a burning cigarette on my palate. I think it's probably because I never was able to really discern any sort of flavor in an actual cigarette when I was smoking them. It's really pretty cool and may just push me in the DIY direction to mix up cheap flavorless juice.
