Started with a Halo G6 starter kit. I still keep it around, it's good for when I'm out and about and am too busy to vape much but want something just in case.
After about a month of constantly charging the batteries since I work from home and tend to chain vape, I moved to MVP2s, which I still use. For tanks, I used pyrex smoktech aros and protank IIs for a few months, still have those too and use them occasionally. Then I got serious about learning how to rebuild coils and got a Kraken clone (genesis style tank atomizer). There followed three more Kraken clones and a Magma rebuildable dripping atomizer. The Krakens and Magma paired with the MVP2s give me the vape experience I want/need on a general basis, as someone whose days consist of sitting at my computer in the privacy of my own home where I have the luxury of
vaping as much as I choose.
I'm currently looking at picking up a mechanical mod just to have something simple and reliable around (the battery on the MVP2 will die eventually, and it's non-replaceable). But I'm happy with the vape I get now, with the MVP as my power supply and the Krakens and Magma as my go to atomizers.
If I had to do the beginning of my journey over again, I'd do the same thing. The Halo kit didn't really have the power I needed when I was first making the switch, but at that time I needed the form factor of a cigarette to get on the vaping train... I wanted/needed something I could hold like a cigarette, that actually felt like a cigarette. I'm not sure I would have made the jump if anyone had stuck an MVP in my hand to start off with... it would have felt too weird and ostentatious.
I mention all of this - more than you asked for - to illustrate that it's common to start with the cig-a-likes, find their power lacking, and move up in gear from there... and also to illustrate that it *is* possible to only go through a few iterations of gear before you find what works for you.
