After 26 pages and 257 post, I've learned the following:

-Price point seems to be a big part of some vapers experience when picking a juice

- Taste is still very objective

-A sample pack of any juice should be purchased before making any general assumptions about a juice untasted by your own taste buds

- I'm even more convinced now than ever that home cooked meals, no matter how late at night are the best way to dine....in or out.

I love this shoooooooooooooooooooow :p

I think maybe he's saying it's overpriced, not in a business sense, but compared to other juices of similar quality. My mom just bought a $1500 purse, and I have ones of similar style and quality that cost $200. It wouldn't be worth it to me, but it is to her. You're right about the way some businesses price things. They keep raising the price until sales drop off, then use that figure as the "value" of their product.

it's a proven fact that certain stores and products have "snob appeal". hence the success of places like Neiman-Marcus and Tiffany. people who have more money than they actually need buy stuff that cost much more than its worth at those businesses. it lends credibility and validation to their wealth and status....if not to others, at least to themselves. it's why other countries hate us. :p

Its not necessarily "snob appeal", its just economics. If Gucci and Luis Vuitton were to lower their prices to a point where the majority of the general population can obtain one, they lose there appeal which leads to loss of high end clienteles. This would then lead to Gucci and Luis Vuitton lowering their quality of their products and start mass producing instead.

Oh, I thought it was because we're fat, stupid, uneducated, xenophobic, hypocritical, violent toward everyone inside or outside of the borders of the country and consider McDonalds to be one of the 4 food groups.

Everybody likes nice things, no?

I like nice things and have no problem paying more for them. Will a 3 dollar watch work for a while? Maybe. Will it look and feel nice? Probably not. Will a Hublot? Yes, on all accounts. I'll pay more for the Hublot.

The rest of the developed world is no different than the US- as far as people with wealth, or 'more money than they need' buying nice things. I have been to most of the large cities in Europe and have yet to find one which doesn't have several or many high-end luxury stores. Do a little research on Vienna's central shopping district, for one. Go to the Palladium in Prague and you will probably feel under-dressed, unless you also like nice things.

acknowledged, other countries have their share of wretched excess....but not on the grand scale of the US. plus, we like to flaunt ours on reality tv. :p

i don't begrudge anyone for liking and wanting nice things. my problem is when people use that affluence to rub others' noses in it.

Wow... I found THAT really offensive.

And pretty ignorant.

We're not talking Louis Vuitton level pricing here people... This Liquid is still cheaper than most of us paid for Cigarettes.

That's the threshold in my opinion... When liquid is priced higher than cigarettes... Then maybe it's Snobbery pricing.

It's a nice looking, great tasting and we'll made Juice at a premium price, it's hardly a luxury status symbol item at that price.

An analogy for the women...
This is a $300 purse at Macy's
Not a $1500 Louis Vuitton

(Guess who's wife recently got a new bag LOL)

yeah i am poor so i am ignorant and offensive. sorry. you could just ignore my kind like you do in real life.

Wow... well, if nothing else, you did just prove your ignorance.

I am far.... FAR, from wealthy...

To put it in perspective... it took me months to save up the money to buy my first eGo kit and juice... months. I now use a mechanical mod I saved months for, with a rebuildable atomizer and cotton balls for wick... to reduce my vaping cost.

So you can keep your "oh poor me, they all think they're better than me, I'm a victim" attitude, to yourself...

It has no place here.

Is expensive juice good or do we tell ourselves it's good because it's expensive?

I tried all of Five Pawns liquids before I knew the price... it was the best juice I had ever tasted... particularly Gambit.

In the case of Castle Long, I knew when I tasted it that it was unlike any other liquid i had ever tasted... Utterly unique and complex.

The price, when I learned it, seemed absolutely in line with what I tasted.

I was shocked to come back here to ECF and learn that there was actually a thread like this... I don't know why people think it is overpriced, for what it is.

If it was just PG/VG and TFA flavoring in plastic drip bottles, then I could see the complaints... but it's not

Really?

I was never any of those... but you were...

Pot & Kettle maybe?
