Background - Been meaning to do this for a while. five pawns has positioned itself as a "premium" or "top shelf" e-liquid maker. $23.50 (shipping included in all prices) for the sample pack (5 X 4 mL bottles). 30 mL bottles of individual flavors are sold for $27.50.

Personnel - My wife, Rebekah; our friend, Juanita; and myself.

Hardware - iTaste VV, IGO-L RDA. A new micro coil was built using 30 gauge kanthal around a 1/16" drill bit. 2.0 ohms. Organic cotton ball (CVS) was used as a wick.

Software - five pawns Signature Sample Pack, 5 - 4 mL dropper bottles. 18 mg/mL nicotine. FP liquids are only available as 50/50 PG/VG, which is fine with me, as it's the same mix I use for my own DIY liquids.

Visual Assessment - Gorgeous packaging. Like that they're in glass dropper bottles, but clear? Really??? Nicotine and many flavor components are light-sensitive. Sample bottles arrived packed in bubble wrap, inside a cardboard tube. "Tasting Notes" were included. Shipping was extremely quick.

Methodology - Cotton was removed, IGO was thoroughly rinsed and dried with a paper towel, coil was dry-burned, and cotton was replaced before each flavor. iTaste was set at 4.2 volts. Approximately 10 drops of liquid was used to fully saturate each new cotton wick. Waited 30 seconds before replacing the IGO cap and firing. We took turns getting the first vape. Using this dripper, we were able to sample all five flavors in about 20 minutes.

Absolute Pin: NyQuil, Jaegermeister, anise. NyQuil/cinnamon hit first, some other notes detectable after repeated hits. Complex, but medicinal. Three thumbs down.

Grandmaster: First hit was Laffy Taffy. After that, peanut butter becomes apparent. Three thumbs half-way up.

Gambit: Three thumbs up. Can taste the crust of the apple pie. Rich, nicely blended.

Bowden's Mate: Peppermint strong initially, ex-menthol smoker (Juanita) really liked it. Like a Girl Scout Thin Mint cookie. Two thumbs up, one thumb down.

Queenside: Very good. Citrus, but not candy-like. Vanilla rounds it out. Good balance. Like a Creamsicle for grownups. Three thumbs up.

Overall - Good variety in their Signature Series. The 5 flavors are very distinct. ADV? Eh, maybe Gambit or Queenside, but I didn't wake this morning craving either of these, like I've done with other e-liquids (including some DIY mixes). Nice as a change of pace from my usuals, but difficult to justify the price.
