So I've tried a few five pawns juices, and I gotta say, I'm a fan. I literally just cracked open my first Castle Long, which is easily the most complex flavor I've tasted out of the e-liquids I've tried, and an instant favorite of mine. I'm primarily a dripper, and even though these flavors are fairly rich, they aren't overwhelming.

I'd say Five Pawns are an "all week vape" for me, I haven't been tooting on them constantly all day (like I do with cloud science alpha ), but they are definitely my go to change of pace, Castle Long is like a nice sweet bourbon after my "meal", if I vape it too much, it loses it's charm, and becomes too overwhelming, maybe because I usually vape 100% VG or something close to it.\

I really do dig this flavor though, the "Kentucky bourbon" is noticable, but it's not the dominant flavor by far, which is probably a good thing, because let's be honest, most don't drink bourbon for it's flavor :p. But I'm definitely a whiskey guy, so that backnote is definitely my style. The dominant flavors are the coconut and brown sugar, and they almost taste like they've been toasted together it's blended so well, it's mouthwatering. And the almond is definitely a flavor you taste with your nose, or on the exhale, it's a nice "base note" I guess, which really smooths out the other relatively strong flavors. I'm trying to put it into words, but I can't really, the almond is like the glass of milk for when your eating a big plate of cookies/brownies, the creaminess of the almonds really dampen the sharp flavors. It's awesome! That's all I can say, everytime I vape it, I taste a different flavor first, and sometimes a different one on the exhale, it's a novelty juice that I can really appreciate.

Maybe I got a little to "connoisseur-y" with that description, but if you try it, or ever have, then you'd probably have a good idea what I mean :D. The big elephant in the room though is probably the price, is it worth it? I'd have to answer that with, "are you the type of person that is willing to pay extra for a good whiskey/vodka/wine?". They all technically get you drunk, and some may argue that the taste is basically identical, but Five Pawns does have to be a cut above at least 90% of most juice flavors, at least when it comes to complexity, and uniqueness.

(Although I have to admit, the first puff I took, I thought, "This tastes JUST like an almond joy, blended with a shot of decent bourbon."

I think it's really interesting, good fluid, what do you guys think? :vapor:

I haven't gotten around to trying the Mixology lineup yet but I've tried all of the Signature line and I liked them all. However, I only reordered Queenside, Absolute Pin, and Bowden's Mate.

I'll be ordering a Mixology sample pack in the near future. Most of those sound pretty good to me. Looking forward to checking them out.

They're the most complex and rich flavors I've tasted. And they're pretty original, especially Mixology.

BUT

The signature line is unvapable for me - overwhelmingly sweet. Gambit made me gag, GM was close. Queenside is the only one I can vape for a while in some setups, but not in others. Then again, only for a little while and the orange is almost masked by the sugar instead of it being brought forward by it.

The mixology line is a bit weird. Letting what I have left steep to see if the flavors blend a bit better. CL is too sweet like the Signature ones and the coconut and roasted almond are a bit too strong. Maybe I'll like the reserve version better. The others all have a little something that ruins them (like too much dill in 64). Too bad because I can see how I could like them if not for that. The only one I like (and I really really like it) is Lucena.

I need to try CL and Queenside in my reo, see if they come out better.

Yeah dill in a juice :?:, I'm not sure about that one lol, I may give it a whirl at the free taste station one day though. I hear ya on the very strong/sweet, no judge here friend, however, I'm dripping this stuff on a Gplat build at 0.1ohm on a dual coil, and it's not overwhelming to me. Then again, I do naturally pick up my setup, vape it, and then set it down for a minute, and the times I have chain vaped it like I'm late for work, I did start to get a little...stomach reaction lol. It may be because I'm not used to PG and it's nicotine delivery, but I wouldn't doubt that it's the rich flavor.

You don't like Gambit?! Wassamatayou? :p Just kidding, it's like the "female" version of Castle Long to me (and I don't mean women can't handle the bourbon ;)), it's like if the juices had genders, CL is like the harder touch of bitter juice, and Gambit is the softer sweet dessert juice. I couldn't harp on Gambit either, but my mouth does water just thinking of it!

Has anybody ever tried fifth rank? That's the longest, most poetic juice description I've ever read lol, I really want to try it now.

Check out my amateur iPhone photography, that beautiful packaging though...

By the way what are most people vaping this out of? I threw it straight in a fairly "hardcore setup": 0.1ohms, dual coil of 8 wraps on 1/16th" guide, made with 22ga Gplat Elite, thrown in my drilled 26650 Tobh setup. I've always thought that I'm easily overwhelmed by flavors, because I'm a guy that likes unsweetened green tea, 100% VG, lighter flavors, and from what I've heard on the internet (mainly youtube), is that people are getting super overwhelmed by it.

And don't get me wrong, these flavors are rich, but in a way that almost makes me want more. I do vape 5 pawns waaay less hard than most juices, but even in a ridiculous dripper like the one below, making some decent plumage, I'm not getting off-put. If anything it's the higher pg nicotine hit that's throwing me off.

Haha it looks like a 5 pawns-vapor santa beard :p. I'm thinking about wicking this bad boy with Rayon to purify the flavor a little.

Vape on y'all!

In before the multitude of folks post about how its too expensive and "not worth it."
It's worth it, but yeah, I can see where some might be turned off by the price.

Some folks pay more for cars, audio equipment (guilty), or wine because they can tell a difference. Some folks are just fine with a Honda Accord or bookshelf speakers. Everyone's got their priorities.

I'm a fan of Gambit through a cartomizer (too sweet for me through a dripper, though). I absolutely adore Queenside. It's good through a carto tank, but it's stupefyingly good through a dripper.

I'm going to have to try queenside, that seems to be a pretty unanimous favorite for alot of people :). I bet gambit would be better through a tank, unfortunately my girlfriend thought it was cute, and if my girlfriend thinks something is cute, it disappears, but technically it's gone, technically I watch her vape it all day...shamelessly. :p

I do have my SQuape though...hmmm.

Nope, I don't. First time, I could only taste utter sweetness. I swear it made me gag. Second time, same thing, except I could taste the flavor, which was nothing exceptional to me. I do find a lot of dessert juices too sweet. Probably my European tastebuds versus American tastes. Most real life desserts here are too sweet for me. I like CL better, and I'm a girl :)

Has anybody ever tried fifth rank? That's the longest, most poetic juice description I've ever read lol, I really want to try it now.

I have. I'm still on the fence with this one. It's so very original and refreshing. Really tastes like a cocktail. BUT the horehound herb (which tastes pretty good but IMO is their way to not use something as mundane as mint, but hey) is a bit too strong. It should be (IMO) in the background. It's the one I'm hoping will come out fully after more steeping (though it already has a couple of months). As it is, I only have half a sample (and they're so very small) and it's not the kind of juice I would vape often enough to get a 30ml bottle. If they sold 15ml, I would buy one.

64 was my biggest disappointment. The description made my mouth water. But then I tasted... grass. Again, they took something very specific, something that should only be used as a background note, just a hint to tease you, but that is naturally very potent and doesn't blend easily. Then they used too much of it. It was a good idea but the result is dill with a hint of grapefruit. Such a waste.

It's like some very potent spices, they can make or break a recipe. Clove, cinnamon, etc... Well, dill could have made 64 a huge juice, but it broke it instead. Unless you're, like, a cow with a sweet spot for lemon.

I can't taste anything but sugar if I load Queenside in a clearo. Haven't tried in a carto, I don't like them. In my Kayfun, it's lovely but still a tad muted. I want more orange. It's a frustrating juice - I *know* it could be amazing if I could find the right setup (I often have a hard time getting flavor), but it's like it stays there, hovering just out of my reach. Like an orange creamsicle that someone would let you try juuuust a little bit to tease you, and you just want to bite into it.

Won't give up on it just yet, I have a full bottle. I'll drip some in my Reomizer tomorrow.

Here's my problem with 5 Pawns: I think to myself, I'll just get a bottle of CL. But then I think, yeah, some Gambit would be good too. And some Grandmaster. Oh, and I really like 64..I'm about the only one I've seen that doesn't think the dill is too heavy and really like the flavor. So, I am looking at about $111 for four 30 mL bottles of juice. So that turns me off, considering how much more juice I can buy from others for that price, and I can't decide on just one flavor to get.

But yeah, they are definitely awesome e-liquid! I actually wish they came in 15 mL bottles so they could be an occasional treat instead of a 30 mL investment because I'll never be able to decide on just one and the sample pack isn't quite enough.

I see it as the same in the alcohol world;

Some of these lower end juices like Phaze, Sweet Southern Vapes, Etc are like the low end boozes. Like Korsky or McGormic Vodka. The higher end juices like Five Pawns is like Grey Goose vodka.

Yes, theyre all Vodka, and yes, theyre all yummy and achieve the same effect. I dont drink Grey Goose like water cuz its around 40$ a bottle here, vs 8$ for the same size bottle of Korsky.

That being said, my fav is Bowdens mate ^^
