But yeah, they are definitely awesome e-liquid! I actually wish they came in 15 mL bottles so they could be an occasional treat instead of a 30 mL investment because I'll never be able to decide on just one and the sample pack isn't quite enough.
Yeah, I NEVER buy 30ml bottles, and it is very likely that I never will.
That's why I don't have any five pawns right now.

If they did a pick-your-own sample pack, I'd be all over that.

I understand the price conflict, as it is a bit expensive. However, for me most juice tastes like perfume and don't care for a lot of them. After buying a ton I found a few that will keep me away from smoking, and 5 P is one of them. I spent about $250 a month on cigs so $30 or $40 doesn't seem that expensive in relation.

Anyway, I put in an preorder for the reserve. It will be the first time and I'm a bit excited.

When do they do the reserves? 4 times a year or?

Did you preorder from a B&M or an online shop ? If so, which one ?

I tried 5 Pawns and upon trying it I realized why it's so pricey. It's a very well blended liquid and it comes presteeped. It's of the topshelf variety and you are getting what you pay for. If you're not looking for complex, fancy schmancy flavors...look elsewhere. For example Mount Baker Vapor offers great deals on cheaper flavors. But if you're looking for more, Five Pawns is worth checking out.

Nope, I don't. First time, I could only taste utter sweetness. I swear it made me gag. Second time, same thing, except I could taste the flavor, which was nothing exceptional to me. I do find a lot of dessert juices too sweet. Probably my European tastebuds versus American tastes. Most real life desserts here are too sweet for me. I like CL better, and I'm a girl :)

I have. I'm still on the fence with this one. It's so very original and refreshing. Really tastes like a cocktail. BUT the horehound herb (which tastes pretty good but IMO is their way to not use something as mundane as mint, but hey) is a bit too strong. It should be (IMO) in the background. It's the one I'm hoping will come out fully after more steeping (though it already has a couple of months). As it is, I only have half a sample (and they're so very small) and it's not the kind of juice I would vape often enough to get a 30ml bottle. If they sold 15ml, I would buy one.

64 was my biggest disappointment. The description made my mouth water. But then I tasted... grass. Again, they took something very specific, something that should only be used as a background note, just a hint to tease you, but that is naturally very potent and doesn't blend easily. Then they used too much of it. It was a good idea but the result is dill with a hint of grapefruit. Such a waste.

It's like some very potent spices, they can make or break a recipe. Clove, cinnamon, etc... Well, dill could have made 64 a huge juice, but it broke it instead. Unless you're, like, a cow with a sweet spot for lemon.

Thanks so much for your honest opinion, that's why I started this thread to find out why it's good AND why it's bad. Lol no I'm not a cow, so I think I'll avoid 64 :p. I re-read my statement on Gambit by the way, hope that didn't sound negative, I was just playfully saying it's a good juice, not an amazing juice like Castle Long, but is a (almost too sweet I'll admit) juice I think is tasty.

Believe me, I'm an American and I wholly hear you on alot of juices being way too sweet, especially PG juices. I'm probably the only person in the country who doesn't drink soda *cough* sugar water *cough*, I'm 3/4 vegetarian, who eats dessert maybe once weekly, and my favorite drink is unsweetened green tea, I vaped a PG "skittles" juice the other day, and I nearly needed a shot of insulin , it nearly gave me diabetes. Your my kinda girl! One who likes a good bourbon, that's pretty few and far between :p, again I don't want to be sexually ignorant here, just stating observation, that's awesome though, alot of women (up here in Alaska anyway), usually stick their mikes hard lemonade (which I shamelessly love as much as I do hard cider ;), or cake flavored vodka.

Last night I wicked my dripper with Rayon, and Castle Long was a little too rich after about 10 minutes of harping on it, I had to switch. But with cotton, it's a little dampened, and I LOVE IT!

I can't taste anything but sugar if I load Queenside in a clearo. Haven't tried in a carto, I don't like them. In my Kayfun, it's lovely but still a tad muted. I want more orange. It's a frustrating juice - I *know* it could be amazing if I could find the right setup (I often have a hard time getting flavor), but it's like it stays there, hovering just out of my reach. Like an orange creamsicle that someone would let you try juuuust a little bit to tease you, and you just want to bite into it.

Won't give up on it just yet, I have a full bottle. I'll drip some in my Reomizer tomorrow.

I hear that 110% It's a good flavor that TEASES YOU SO HARD, like my girlfriend...of which whom stole my gambit yesterday (it wasn't my fav so whatever), and showed up today with a bottle of Queenside :p. She had it loaded up in her russian 91%, which is a good flavor machine, but for 5P, it had a weaker flavor than what I was getting with castle long from my dripper.

I personally wanted more cream, the blood orange is probably the best "meatiest" realistic orange I've had (I haven't had many though), and wish that the cream was about half and half with that flavor. If you haven't already, try wicking with cellu-cotton/rayon, I've found it's absolutely perfect for my SQuape, and really helps the flavor by at least another 25%, most notably it makes everything sweeter, not to mention the 2x faster wicking I get with cotton, making it perfect for RBA's. I actually took her kayfun and re-wicked it, and it seemed to make the orange a little more prominent, and definitely sweeter, the cream stayed about the same unfortunately for me. But yeah, if you wick it with Rayon lightly, and don't normally have a problem with dry-hits, then Rayon keeps the kayfun from drying up much better, as well as boosting it's already decent flavor. Just a suggestion :D.

Don't really like gambit or castle long, but most of the other ones were really good just not worth the price.

Yeah they really are a novelty juice I hear ya, I happen to be frankly rolling in it (for once :p) lately, and that's why I decided to splurge on myself, and I can't say I'm dissapointed. To me, it's like having a fine cigar box laying around; they aren't exactly 100% worth the price, because they have cigars out there that will do the same thing, and probably taste darn near close to a good cuban. But that box of cubans is a nice refreshing change from the monotony of other cigars, kinda wasteful, but something to let your hair down every now and then and just enjoy "the best" (or up there with the best).

I see it as the same in the alcohol world;

Some of these lower end juices like Phaze, Sweet Southern Vapes, Etc are like the low end boozes. Like Korsky or McGormic Vodka. The higher end juices like Five Pawns is like Grey Goose vodka.

Yes, theyre all Vodka, and yes, theyre all yummy and achieve the same effect. I dont drink Grey Goose like water cuz its around 40$ a bottle here, vs 8$ for the same size bottle of Korsky.

That being said, my fav is Bowdens mate ^^

Perfect analogy brother :), I actually just made a cigar analogy too :p, I was thinking about comparing Jack Daniels & Makers Mark, but they're both good, Makers is just a tiny bit smoother and refined, maybe that would've been a better analogy in retrospect.

Up here in Alaska we have this Vodka that comes in a thin plastic bottle named Monarch *gag* (I'm sure most know of this dirt cheap 7$ "vodka", in fact there's meme's online about it cheap it is.), and if you think Grey Goose, Ketel One (my "available favorite"), or Zyr (mmmmmm, rare but the best) isn't better than Monarch, then I'm sorry, but frankly your tastebuds don't work, and your lucky to prefer such a cheap vodka :toast:.

I mean, this absolutely bitter and disgusting bargain potato vodka is literally so bad, and unfiltered, that it gives most people (like myself) a really noticeable hangover (yes "dirty" alcohols can do this), and the next morning your body is literally whispering to you, "never...drink that again, PLEASE.", which I occasionally ignore in certain situations :D.

Zyr, on the other hand, is probably one of the few alcohols ever, that I nearly enjoy to drink, because it gives a wonderfully smooth and (relatively) hangover free buzz, not to mention it tastes very clean and oh-so-smooooth, with just a hint of sweet grain taste to help with the "bite". Oh man do I love this vodka when I occasionally drink, you don't need to shoot it, you can mix it, sip it, and enjoy the reward it gives you after a few sips. Ketel one is also very close to Zyr, the only difference is it has just a little more bite to it, it seems stronger (which is ok ;) when it hits you, but tastes just as clean, and it's not as rare/expensive. I still have a stock of Zyr, because I like to keep a bottle around, due to it being in seasonally, and it's oh-so-rare.

Kinda like Five Pawns :) (Zyr), I can tell it's one of the finer "crafted" juices out there, and definitely up there with my favorite, but Cloud Science Alpha (Ketel One), is VERY fairly priced for the amazing product you get, and it's a stronger alcohol which tastes just as good, is fairly priced, and always available. Cloud Science is slightly stronger/more effective (it's high VG, makes superior vapor to anything, which is just, if not more, important than flavor to me, and tastes just a tiny bit better when all day vaping, a light, strawberry custard and caramelized sugar taste :drools:.) Zyr (Five Pawns) hurts the wallet, but is still worth it, it's smooth, intricate in flavor, tastes just as good as Ketel One, a tiny bit less strong as ketel one (makes less clouds, 50/50, thin), and wicks better (smoother, quicker buzz :p).

Whoo, I typed alot! I promise I'm not an alcoholic lol, I just appreciate a good drink. My point is, if you like Monarch over Zyr, all the power to you, but there is usually an area where the cheaper juice will be lacking in some way, in Monarchs case, the bitter taste, and the terrible headache all the unfiltered potato juice will knock you in the head with. It'll still get you drunk for $6.88, but it won't be a quality product, I'm sure there's a dirt cheap juice out there that has an amazing flavor (maybe a better all day vape flavor like alpha is to me), but due to each bottle being $3, what's to say that the employee won't take his time, and pour in just the right amount of concentrate, giving you a potent "meh" flavor. Or it coming in a plastic bottle that looks like a pet's medical ear dropper (personally, I shamefully LOVE the five pawns packaging, I know it shouldn't matter, but I smiled at the thing the whole drive home when I first bought it, that cool little cardboard tube, that looks like it was autographed by Captain Cook

Yeah Monarch is pretty famous for how terrible it is, it's literally like prison wine made from musty old potatoes, and probably filtered once through a clean sock.

Hmm. I tried it with cotton. Now I have switched to Cellucotton, but I've yet to load some Queenside again. Waiting for my second reo to come in tomorrow ! Your saying it makes the orange come forward a little bit gives me flutters of hope lol

I will try it with CC in the KF, though, so I can compare with cotton. Funny I haven't found rayon to make juices sweeter, but maybe I haven't noticed because the flavor is overall so much better !

Yeah, I NEVER buy 30ml bottles, and it is very likely that I never will.
That's why I don't have any Five Pawns right now.

If they did a pick-your-own sample pack, I'd be all over that.

I completely understand that, as I said earlier, this is sort of an "occasional" buy for me, it's not that I can't afford it normally, or would struggle too, it's just there're other juices I like a little better that happen to be cheaper. I have to admit though, it is cool that the flavors are one you can really "ponder on", it's almost fun when I vape castle long, because you have to "hunt" for all the flavors every single puff, I taste one over the others every darn time. Instead of taking a puff and thinking "Yeah, that's definitely strawberries and cream alright.", which I love S&Cream, but it's not "fun", just tasty lol.

HOWEVER, I REALLY wish that Five Pawns would customize their juices. I mean for the steepest price around, I think they really should off a PG/VG percentage, smaller/larger sizes, and even a custom nicotine strength for $1 per ml.

I mean for $30 a bottle, I'd gladly pay that bi-weekly IF it were 100% VG, or at least 80VG/20PG, because I frankly don't like PG at all, it gives me a headache, and the flavor is too strong usually. I'm sure they sell at least a bottle an hour, and to pay an employee $15 an hour to be the "juice technician", to custom mix the VG/PG, or specific nicotine level (such as 2.5mg or 13mg etc), wouldn't take too much out of their profits, and I bet they'd have ALOT more fans, because if you find the juice too rich (like alot of people do), simply add more VG to coat the flavor a little. Hell if they did bulk bottles, you could probably even get a hell of a discount too.

Could you imagine buying your favorite flavor for 50 cents a milliliter in your favorite PG/VG ratio, out of one of their cool wooden barrels? Sign me up for a barrel of Castle Long in 100% VG, because I'd easily pay for $300 worth of juice if it were at that bulk discount. You have enough of your favorite five pawns juice for the year, and you'd only have to hurt your wallet once. I should send them an e-mail :p.

So I tried Fifth Rank again tonight, and it's growing on me. Such a nice break from the tobaccos and other fruit/dessert vapes. It's not sweet at all, the lemon and liquor are really nice. The mint/horehound/whatever is still very present but I'm getting used to it.

It's like drinking a nice chilled cocktail after a long day. Cleansing.

Anyway, I wanted to see if I could tone it down a little and added a little bit of a good lemon/strawberry cream juice I have lying around where the lemon is pretty strong too.

And, my friends, this is the bomb. Seriously. Strawberry Mojito. I just need a nice tropical beach to bury my feet in the sand.

So for me, that's two winners out of five (Lucena and 5th rank), and one *maybe* in the Signature line. Two "dammit they were close, but nope" (CL and 64). The others are complete yucks.

I have to give it to 5 Pawns, they're one of the very very few brands where I can really taste the juice (so many are muted, I have bad tastebuds) and, more importantly, I can tell the different flavors apart.

Well put my friend, it's nice to have those "fancy schmancy" flavors once in a blue moon :). Mount baker Vapor does the job for me, but that's all it does, it's simply a good deal on nicotine juice, that tastes "good", not great, good.

The coolest part to me like you said is that they come pre-steeped, to me that alone is almost worth the extra money. The fact that you crack open the sealed bottle, and you have a ready to vape product, that will taste as good as it ever will, with no if ands or buts about it. I can't tell you how many times a bottle of juice just started to taste it's peek right when I was about to run out :glare:. At least if you pay the $30, and don't like Five Pawns, it's not because it needs steeping, it's because you don't like the final product...period, so you can sell a full bottle to a buddy worst comes to worst!

I tried Queenside and Lucena in the Reo tonight (dripped them). Amazing how the hardware can change a juice.

- Queenside : Very nice, still too sweet. Not too sweet as in "ugh" anymore, but it could use a bit more... tartness to bring out the flavors. I get the orange just as I do in the kayfun, but in the Reo it's more complex. It would be perfect if I had a good (natural) unsweetened lemon to mix with it.

- Lucena : The difference with a clearo is amazing. In the clearo the peach was very strong and juicy. In the reo I get more nut than peach. I'll have to spend more time with it but I believe it'll like it better in a clearo or a kayfun.

I like Five Pawns a lot as well. Not as a constant vape or I get fatigue, stop being able to taste the flavor, but like to have it upon occasion. The price doesn't bother me, especially since I use it as an occasional vape anyway!

Currently I'm occasionally vaping Gambit, I think I'm through queenside and, um, the other 4 I can't recall right now :)

Bowden's mate is my favourite liquid by far. Got 7 of their flavours on the go at the moment. Gambit, Bowden's mate, Grandmaster, Queenside, Castle long, Lucena and Fifth rank. Really spoiled myself the last couple months. Can't go back now... I survive on 5 Pawns and my zamplebox subscription with the odd other juice here and there. 5+ bottles gets free (fast) shipping to my country direct from 5 pawns.

That sounds like a pretty damm awesome combo lol, and I like them for the same reason you do, you just put it better. "It's like drinking a nice chilled cocktail after a long day. Cleansing." , exactly how I vape it. I usually love light flavors myself, ones that are nearly "half there", like unsweetened coconut, or a watery honeydew juice. That's why I almost always stick with pure VG, but 5 pawns is 50/50, so quite stronger than I'm used to. But like you said, after a long day (I vape it as I'm going to bed every night), it's a nice palate cleanser. It's so strong and different, a nice break in monotony.
