Yeah, I just stocked up on some non-flanged cartos. Then I got a flanged one with my IBTanked order and love it! For what it's worth, I use a keyring when pushing the tank down, as a spacer to keep it going to far. Place keyring on desk, place carto in the center with tank started and push down. Voila.

:?:

I kinda like the idea of a carto set-screw

don't have one, so not sure how good it works

but the theory seems good and saves $$ on flanged, maybe... ?

- X8 Carto Tank 3.0ml with Fill Port and Base Carto Secure Knob [gv-X8CartoTank] - $15.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

then there is those flange-lock types (best of both worlds ?) top fill

- SmokTank XL - Locking Dual Coil Cartomizer Tank - New tank design for 510 PV's! 6ml 1.5ohm

- AGR Locking Cartomizer Tank

I like flanged, mostly because I've had a few of the unflanged push the bottom cap off of my IBT... big mess. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I fill up the tank and then screw the carto onto my iTaste with an ego ring, then push the tank all the way down until it "clicks." Seems like it ends up where it's suppose to, but I'm not sure why it's so hard to push out the bottom.

I would postulate that the inner o-ring has more friction/fit than the caps o-ring.

I prefer the non flanged.

Same here. I'm picky about gaps and lines, with flanged cartos IBTanks sit up too high and leave a gap between the tank and device. With unflanged I can snug the tank right down against the mod for a much nicer look.

Given the opportunity to have an IBtank with a flange cut-out, then I would definitely go with a flanged carto.

For me, it depends on the device I am putting it on. If there is no airflow on the topcap, such as ProVari, I use flanged. If there is, then unflanged. I have been using carto tanks for like a year now, so the flange really has nothing to do with the ease of use on my carto tank, for me at least.
