Flat Top Battery Adapter

Hallelujah, It's been a year and 4 months since I've quit the cancer sticks. My, my, has time flew by like a hurricane. I did lit a cigarette up a few months ago and I gotta tell ya, after a few puffs, it was disgusting. After seeing how I easily kicked a 32 year pack and half a day habit, my kids are now into vaping. Thank the Good Lord. I felt guilty when my kids took up smoking because of me. Now I feel proud that because of me, they are whole heartily vaping. Now, my kids don't have much money and I help them as much I can. My daughter brought four Panasonic batteries on sale for her provari (a Christmas gift from me). Good deal I thought until they're flat top not button top. Now, I've read here in the past that it's just not worth the risk to change the top of the battery but I'm hoping that by now there are ways to safety adapt the tops. I thought to try the battery adapter here. Flat Top Battery Adapter. Any thoughts to this?
Thanks to all the good people here. I wouldn't have been able to quit if it hasn't been for the forums. The generosity from you all can be overwhelming sometimes.
Btw, have any of you notice that google spell check doesn't have the word "Vaping"?

It's certainly better than a lot of the unsafe DIY options (magnets, etc) since there's no way for it to shift and short against the tube, but might create too much extra length for some battery/mod combos. For the price it may be worth a try, just be aware that the added length might be an issue and I'd be wary of the disc getting stuck in the tube. The best option IMHO would still be to use button top batteries if your mod requires them

And congrats on almost a year and a half smoke-free

Thank you. I find that no matter how old, there are always lessons to be learn. The vendor my daughter brought the batteries from did not mention whether they were flat top or button top. The batteries was just the right size. His pictures did not show the tops. She learned an expensive lesson. She will ask the vendors questions before buying. In the meantime, she hoping she can still safely adapt the battery tops so it won't be a total loss. I told her that quitting analogs saved her huge amount of money already and that could be used for buying the correct batteries. I told her maybe the risk to her provari could be much more expensive but she wants to try.

Which Panasonic batteries did you get? The reason I mentioned the "added length" thing is because some of them are a bit longer already than some other brands. I have some of the Panny hybrids from when they first hit the market and they are already about 4mm longer than the AWs, so in the case of those particular ones the adapter might add too much length for the Provari. Still, for the price I guess there's not much lost if it doesn't work out, or maybe someone with firsthand experience will chime in with a yay or nay

Worst case scenario, you're verified so you could always recoup some of the cost in the classifieds if you wind up buying another batch of batteries

I asked Madvapes if using their flat top adapter on the panasonic batteries will fit in the provari. They informed me they can't give me a clear cut answer because neither of those batteries is a madvapes product. So does anyone here tried this?

its possible that the panny with the adapter will fit the provari. a friend of mine has used the grey pannys with the provari + extension cap and a tiny super strong magnet atop the panny's pos side. of course the madvapes adapter is a safer choice than a magnet, but i am unsure of the height of the adapter compared to the height of the magnet. they look to be about the same tho.

i think youre right. when you buy a provari, they tell you to use specific batteries, which are AW imr. not only are they the high quality cells you need, but AW does not make imr cells without a button-top.

Man, I need one of those adaptors, madvapes out of stock, and I think it'll cost more than the $2.50 it costs to ship to the UK.
Don't fancy using magnets or washers because of the risk of them slipping and shorting. I'm gonna have to have a dig round for some bits to make my own from.

I dont rate AW batteries much, I've been using some LG 18650 ICR batteries with solder blobs on in rotation with AW batteries for a while now and the AW batteries only last about one third to half the time the LG batteries do. Your options are limited with button tops, I dont rate efest either. I am getting some panasonic ones next.
