Oh right lol when i got the brass button i just assumed they would be all brass apart from the lock ring.

It was much easier than I thought it would be. Used a gripper and it screwed off cleanly. Thanks for the advice - much appreciated. Now my 303 is even more beautiful.
New shiny! Just received it today, and replaced the button mine came with.
I swear it hits better, but that may be just a new button, regardless of the type.
I had tried taking my old one apart and cleaning, but it didn't seem to make much difference.
I'm loving the two tone look, it goes well with the rest of my brass.

Well, at least compared to the 2012 SS buttons (then again, I never had any issues with mine, and both my main GGs are kicked).
Reminds of whenever Apple releases a new version of their IOS. It's a running joke on the macrumors forums, "seems snappier!".
