Hey guys, so I'm new to rda's and building coils. In not much for cloud chasing, but extremely interested in flavor chasing. I get vape tounge very easily so I'm always looking for the next big flavor. I have done endless research on this topic, and continuously come up short. So my question is what is the best build for maximum flavor? I dont want to sacrifice a throat hit, and a decent cloud is what I'm shooting for. I'm using an Ivp4 and a mad hatter rda (not mini) of you guys have any tips this would be most appreciated. I slightly understand ohms law, and am continuously trying to apply this towards my goal of excellent flavor.

I personally would use a twisted 28 gauge for the best flavor. You can use a lower gauge but I would not recommend it. I use it on my sub tank, sub tank mini, and mutation X v3. Nothing else has ever come close for flavor. Hope this helps.

Half my brain tied behind my back just to make it fair.

+1. I like 8 wraps @ 2mm, dual coils, run at 65 watts. Usually ends up at .45 ohm.

2x28g fused claptons. Wrap with 34g or higher. For me, fused claptons are sort of a flavor threshold, fancier builds like aliens don't do much more. I run these 'small' fused claptons in my RTAs and RDAs. A set of dual 7 wraps on 3mm hit around .3ohm and are safe to vape even on single 18650.
This is my current Griffin setup and it is fantastic.

Take your favorite cloud chasing build..... Now add at least 1 probably 2or 3 wraps to the coils and most likely turn the wattage down....... Flavor tends to be found at lower wattage's and with bigger coils than you use for making clouds. Key building for flavor is to maximise coil surface area and wicking contact area.
I get great flavor with twisted wire builds in the 1ohm area, unregulated. I could build lower (higher wattage) and get maybe MORE flavor, but the result for me is vapors tongue. This might be part of your flavor chasing issues. You chasing more flavor, instead of good flavor.

Nothing teaches so well as practical experience- Donald DeCarl.

You can do a lot of research, but what tastes great to one person may be nothing more then meh to you. Put wire to bit and keep at it, until you get an idea of what you like, where you want to go. It takes time, but it`ll pay off. There is a point where heat removes flavor, it seems to be different for everybody, find where your point is and you`ll find "your" coil, depending on the RDA that you have also chosen because its strengths suit your vaping style.

BOL.
