Hey everyone. Newbie here. Been vaping for about 3 months on a Vamo V5 with a nautilus on it. Just got set up this week with my first rda and have been dripping the last few days.

I'm a flavor chemist for one of the 'big 5' flavor manufacturing companies and have a B.Sc. in chemistry... hopefully I can help out a lot in the DIY forum! I make my own liquids and am somewhat of a 'specialist' in essential oils.

Welcome to the forum. I so need a fantastic watermelon flavor. I want it to taste like a watermelon jellybelly. :)

I am by no means a flavorist (creating flavors) but I am involved with R&D in other aspects. I'm based in a production environment and do a lot of support for QC and production. I have confidentiality agreements to uphold but I don't see any problems with discussing flavors as long as I'm not posting our formulas all over the place. I also don't plan to tell anyone which company I work for haha.

I have been browsing the DIY forums and am seeing a lot of speculation and misinformation being spread about the flavors people are vaping. I just want to make sure people are being safe. I actually quit smoking for about a year before I picked up vaping. I was looking at different flavors people are vaping online. Quickly I found all the dangerous chemicals people are vaping without actually knowing about it.

Nice to 'meet' you all.

Welcome to the forum! (This should be interesting).

If you know of anything that you believe is dangerous and is being used, please speak up...but back it up with info where possible and I'd suggest posting in the DIY section. There are health related sections too. Please acquaint yourself with the cautions and guidelines in the DIY section first...particularly about oil based flavorings.

As to nic-base and quality....it's an ongoing discussion. ;)

I'm sure I and others will be very interested in what you come up with for flavor recipes and info. I DIY almost exclusively, although I usually keep it simple.

EDIT: You may wish to ask the forum admins where/how to best post such concerns, if any.

I can use some catnip flavor. My kitties would sure appreciate it. :p :vapor:

Um, there is one. I'm going to be getting it as soon as I can. It's called Cheshire Catnip from Alice in Vapeland, of course. ;)

I'm really, really looking forward to it. I love mints, especially the darker, woodsier ones like catmint. Although people say their cats don't notice the catmint in it.
