Hello all,

I am trying to fgure out why the flavor in many of my fluids is "dissapearing". By dissapearing, i mean that for the first few drags, i get flavor. But then it drops off rapidly. I end up getting flavor for lessthan a minute, then i have 20 minutes worth of vapor left in the cart... flavorless vapor...

I already did a quick test to see if it was just me; perhaps i needed to drink more water or something. (hehe, i actually got to use a semicolon!) I had my wife try a couple drags. I figured that would be rather fool proof test, as she does not vape or smoke.

She couldnt taste anything either.

I keep my bottles out of the sun, in cellar like temperatures, and constantly sealed.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Perhaps i am doing something wrong?

I have noticed that the flavor will sometimes drop off with certain flavors, but not all of mine. It's usually the more subtle types. I've found that there's a correlation between my mouth feeling dry and sticky and a decrease in flavor. Putting down the PV for a while and drinking more water helps most of the time.

so, your saying it is natural to have fluid left over in the cart while not getting any flavor out of it? I was assuming that fluids are homogeneous mixtures. You know, a good to the last drop sort of thing. At least thats been my experience until recently.

just dug out my banana candy one. And that stays kicking all the way through... s now i need to figure why my others arent behaving in the same way.

Flavors all form same vendor:

Clove
Coconut
Peach
White Chocolate
Waffle
Caramel
Blueberry Cheesecake
Blueberry Crumble
Banana

Out of those, only the Banana stays throughout (until the cart runs dry). All of them use to behave like the banana. The only differance, that i can think of is that the banana is the newest flavor i got in. But, its not like any are old... ive been vaping for 25 days, and i heard these things have a 2 year shelf life.

mostly im upset about my coconut.. i loved that one so much that i would hollar COCONUUUUUUUUUT!! as i was killing the cart LOL!

hmmm...I don't have any more suggestions. I have had flavors lose their intensity and I would switch to another flavor for a little while then go back to the original one and it would be fine. I know the problem was with my taste buds. But I have never had a flavor that taste good for the first vape and then heads south.

Maybe someone will come along and see this who has experienced the same thing.

What nic level are you using? Just a theory, but I've noticed that the flavor of higher nic juices (the highest I use is 24) fade and become a sort of anonymous sour flavor when I'm "saturated" with nic. The effect is quicker with higher nic -- almost never happens with a low level like 8 or 11. When I smoked, I knew I was overdoing it when the cigs started tasting sort of "sour," instead of that delicious (not) tobacco flavor, or so it seemed.

Sounds a little nutty, I know, but the fact that you're getting flavor with the first few draws each time wouldn't seem to make sense if the bottle has gone bad.

You could test this by seeing how long it takes the flavor to flee when you've been away from vaping for a while, as in the morning, or if it takes longer to happen with a lower nic level flavor.

The only other possibility that occurs to me is that something is going on with the equipment that's screwing things up as the batt gets hot or something. Hotter vapor has a bit less flavor.

I keep my bottles in a plastic tub in the fridge. Haven't had one lose flavor yet that I've noticed.

Good luck.

heading to bed now, in the morning ill pay extra special attention to how my morning vape is going. I didnt think of that, and it kind of makes sence. I use 18 mg stuff, it isnt extremely high, but might be high enough for that to happen.

hehe, just need to finish off what i have left in this cartige so i start with am empty one in the morning.

This is interesting to me because I literally can't taste any thing.... mine are 16mg (strawberry and a cotton candy)
I also have weak flavor from the "high" cartridges that came with the ego... all is less than a week old.... thought it was just me and very well could be on my end here, but this is why I'm afraid to buy different juices...I might as well just get regular unflavored or something.... would the type make any difference? like dekang vs. american blended?

It's more than likely your tastebuds. If you are a meat eater..... think about those first few amazing bites of a perfectly cooked steak.... fast forward to the last few bites. Still good maybe, but not nearly as intense. My solution is to keep different juices in rotation. I have 3 pv going at a time, because I chain vape 20 hours a day. so I have three different flavors going as well. the next day, I change to 3 different flavors. Keeps the tastebuds from becoming fatigued with one flavor and losing taste. Many ready made juices on the market are not very intensely flavored to begin with, so it's quick to burn out in a few drags. Even my beloved knock your socks off Swedish Fish can get dull if I over vape it. SO.. hang in there, buy more juice. lol like that's going to be a chore!

I'm having this issue also, did a search and this pretty much is accurate, so +1 for me resurrecting an old thread vs. starting a new one!

So, I'm using GotVapes Cyclone eGo Vornado 3ml Bottom Coil Cartomizer VV KIT [gv-cyclonevornado-KIT] - $26.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more, which is a tank type carto and the variable passthrough. I've found the sweet spot at 3.7 volts. Here's what's happening. Friend suggested that I started off with 100% VG, so that's mostly what I've got but through trial and error, I've found a perfect blend and flavor for me, which is 80%VG and 20% PG blackberry champagne. It is flavorful and hits really, really good throughout the entire tank, rinse and repeat. I've filled other tanks with the 100%VG, example would be amaretto or champagne and the first few vapes, they hit really really good but then after a few, they lose all flavor and have a weird taste. Juice is from americaneliquidstore.com and I'm VERY happy with the pg/vg mixed blackberry champagne and I also have 100% PG blackberry and neither lose their flavor over time, even with chain vaping. Do not lose their flavor OR "hit". So now I'm wondering, the VG juices seem to vary in their thickness due to flavor, like my butter rum is much thicker than amaretto for example, which are both 100%vg. I have an idea as to what might be causing it but I'd like to hear from you guys before I put my 0.02c in. Anyone else experience this and know what the problem is?

Oh, and setting it down for the little bit that it took to type this up and hit it again, the flavor is full and the throat hit is very nice for the first three chain vapes and then...gone!
