My ADV is MBV Black Ice 50/50 PG/VG, 24mg (recently went up from 18mg) +1 flavor shot. My first three months or so vaping I was an "amateur cloud junkie". My Halo Triton actually put out decent clouds for being a simple eGo clone (i.e., not quite eGo threading, but otherwise the same), but nowhere near what an RDA on a powerful mech could do.
But over the past few weeks, flavor as a priority has been creeping up higher and higher for me. I still like thick, opaque clouds. I don't need giant clouds, but I do still like a good, solid cloud that I can't see through for 1-3 seconds after exhaling. On my last two juice orders from Mt. Baker, I added a flavor shot, and that one flavor shot makes it perfect for my taste. Two flavor shots would be too much, and with none the flavor is just a bit too muted.
So now, I get just the flavor I want. A bit stronger than I used to prefer, yet with the same decent cloud formations. For an eGo, that is. I'm really looking forward to getting my SLB eGo-V V3 Mega 1300mah passthrough battery and Kanger T2 tanks.
I prefer low resistance single coils - not sub-ohm, obviously, but 1.8Ω or 1.9Ω - and I run 3.3-3.5v (6.0-6.5w) through them. I like quite a cool vape compared to most people, yet it's quite flavorful to me. And I know it seems like barely enough power to get decent clouds, but my Halo Triton did a darn good job at it with those specs. I foresee the eGo-V V3 Mega and Kanger T2 tanks doing about the same, since Triton tanks and Kanger T2 tanks are not just similar to each other, but identical, and I'll be running the same voltage through them.
Why even switch from a Halo Triton rig to an eGo-V V3 and Kanger T2 tanks if I'm going to be running identical specs through them? Because the SLB eGo-V V3 Mega battery offers up some specific features that I'll really enjoy...
||| Passthrough is always cool. No need to switch to another battery while my V3 Mega charges. Only having one Halo Triton VV battery, it was always an "interruption" in my vaping performance - for both flavor AND clouds - once a day while the VV battery sat on the charger for 2.5 hours, during which time I was forced to use one of my standard 650mah Triton batteries. Great quality, mind you, but non-VV, and on a full charge, wayyy too high of a voltage for my tastes. 4.1-4.2v?!? "Help! My vape is burning down!!!" Great clouding, but unbalanced and way-too-hot flavor for my tastes. Not any more.
||| 1300mah vs. 900mah, Obvious benefit.
||| Having both VV and VW gives me flexibility. On my eVic-S, I prefer using VW. I just like the more consistent warmth and flavor balance I get handling power instead of voltage across occasional changes in my coil resistances. The same will likely be true when I use the eGo-V V3 Mega battery.
||| Universally standardized eGo/510 threading vs. KR808-D1 and Halo proprietary "almost eGo" threading. Obvious benefit.
||| 14s cutoff vs. 10s cutoff. Every now and then I run into the "burn limit" with my Triton. I'd like just a few more seconds of headroom. With as low as I run my voltage, I really don't foresee endangering any coils.
||| 3.0v lower limit vs. 3.3v lower limit. For a low resistance/low voltage vaper, this will give me a few more tenths of well-appreciated space in which to work with my preferred voltages.
||| Built-in ohm meter. I love that convenience with my eVic-S. I'll love it just as much with the SLB eGo-V V3 Mega.
The downside? It's 1.7mm wider and 25mm longer than my Triton VV. Quite an acceptable compromise for the great benefits my new eGo battery will provide.
And yes, I know this was a very long and often extraneous explanation for how my cloud vs. flavor priorities have drifted recently, and precisely how I'll retain them when switching to a new rig for my portable vaping. But y'all know by now that I'm VERY wordy. Actually, my wordiness comes and goes. Today it obviously came with a giant vengeance.
Every now and then, I just love saying in 15 paragraphs what most people could say in 3-5 sentences. It's just my own brand of weird.
