Flavor stays in atomizer when switching to other flavors. Tips?

I got a joyetech eGo-T tank Type B, although that probably is irrelevant for this question. The problem is that let's say I vape one particular flavor. Then I switch to a different flavor. The first flavor stays in the atomizer so I end up tasting a hybrid of both flavors.

Other than buying a different atomizer for every flavor I own, what is the best way to prevent this from happening? Or is using a different atomizer for each flavor the only way?

I read something just last night that if you get some pure VG from Walmart (or elsewhere), drip a few drops into your atty, "dry" burn it (even though you're technically not dry) and after you've cleared that out, you should be all set to go to a different flavor. I've not done this personally but figured it might be helpful.

I don't know exactly what a Joyetech eGo-T Tank Type-B looks like, but if you can get e-liquid into it, then you can get water into it ...and, if you can get water into it, then you can run it under a hot-water faucet for a couple of minutes - let it dry overnight. All e-liquids are water-soluble and will break down in good ol' H2O. This is all I've ever done in the way of cleaning coil heads.

It does matter which kind of clearo it is. Type B attys are easiest actually. Just put some base PG/VG or one of them and vape it. That will clean the tiny wick out just fine. If it doesn't after at least 10 big puffs, then you can soak the atty in some hot water and just blow the excess water out. No need to wait for it to dry completely as the wicks are so small. On the top coils with long hanging wicks, the only thing to do is take out the atty/wick, if its a rebuidable of course, and rinse it under hot water. But, mind, with some juices its impossible to get the taste out fully.

Edit: but, if its a juice you CAN get rid of the taste of, its taste should be gone after vaping at least a quarter tank/clearo of the new flavor. I seldom care enough to get rid of one... all my juices are pretty compatible and I've gotten to vape some pretty yummy combos that way. In fact, its actually given me some ideas for DIY juices.

Back when I used an atomizer (I switched to cartomizers) I would always have 2-3 of them. I'd run each one under hot water and let it dry after use so that I could switch flavors easily.

When I failed to do that due to time or laziness, I'd just put a drop of the new juice on the atomizer, do a burn, and that generally worked although not as well as an actual cleaning.

(This is one of the many reasons I switched to cartomizers)

Jayvaps I watched a video using that technique and it does seem to work really well for atty's. I just use hot hot water and blow out the residual water until gone, do a dry burn and I'm ready for the next flavor. This is for an atty only. Clearomizers are basically the same, I just break them down as far as I can, use hot hot water, pat them dry with paper towels, put them back together, dry burn, and reassemble. Cartomizer's are probably the easiest as far as tanks go. Very little disassembly/reassembly necessary. There are some flavors that just won't go away, esp. coffee's and certain tobacco's. I just find compatible juices or change the heads or cartomizers depending on type of tank I'm using.

When I started vaping my first device was a eGo-C tank system. I used to change juices in that and was vaping the new stuff only only in maybe six drags. Now, it didn't work that fast going from say a cinnamon or menthol flavor to a fruit flavor, but the old flavor still cleared out after a few dozen hits.

The 'T' atty might be a bit different. I thought it was pretty much the same though, you just can't remove it from the sleeve. Here's a video of how someone thought blowing it out between flavors would help. I used to use a syringe with blunt needles to clean mine out too. I would put the needle into the bottom of the atty, the side closest to the battery and squirt a few CC's of warm water through it a few times. Don't stick the needle in too far or you'll hit the coil, just enter into it. Blow it out with your mouth a few times and flick it out like a thermometer and you should be ready to go.

Good luck with it :thumb:
