Not getting much flavor off the Swedish Fish at 10%, not bad but I think I'll try 15% next time.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

I personally enjoy it at 13% but 15 is also pretty good..just a tad strong in my opinion

sent from my phone via tapatalk 2 because I can't stop reading and posting on ECF

I have a 2 week old bottle of butter pecan that I'm vaping today. I mixed single flave @ 15%. It's pretty good by itself. I really like it. I can tell it would work with some extras like french vanilla or maybe some butterscotch or caramel. The pecan flavor is good but the creamy side could use a boost.

I pretty much give up on FW's tobacco flavors after tried their USA mix and Maple Rum Tobacco in the past. I do think they have good fruit and desert flavors though. I think their alcohol beverages are also good.
I am pretty happy with my various tobacco juices made from VZ SC tobacco, hopefully, I can come up with some good FW desert and fruit juice to mix with my VZ tobacco!

I realized after the fact that MBV uses FW. Order only tobacco type ejuice, and never liked any of them. However, I've used FW in my DIY, all either dessert or fruit flavors and they work. Unfortunately, their tobacco is sub-par and leaves that ever unpopular "soapy" taste.

nice info here, read all the pages...I have added a few new flavors by FW to my shopping list..
it does seems to be consensus here that MBV uses FW true to origin source ...
anyhow a question >>> just wondering if most of the brewers here have used the TPA/TFA or lesser expensive flavorings first because they are cheaper to sample, and may require less percentage to use ??? and have now moved on to FW in general because of their overall better/truer tastes.??
is it just the personal experience gained that each company has one flavor better than the other, and it is not a given.. does one company just do fruits better, or deserts better??
sorry for all the hodgepodge here.. I have gathered "a good bunch of stuff" and will start making juice for the first time this weekend..

FW , TFA and Loanns are all very similiar in cost if you shop at the right places and quainities. Wizard Las has the best price for ll (8ml) bottles of TFA and LA , MBV best prce for 15ml of FW. Larger qunities go to Flavor West or TFA. Yes you have to use different ones for the best of a certain flavor. One thing that really bugsme is posted recepies such as 10% sweet cream, 10% blueberry with no sources named.

FW is good for easy DIY. Similar to Capella's but not quite as good (imo). Many vendors use CAP and FW because you only need one flavor. Quick and simple. Or just 2 flavors mixed to call it a "special blend". They taste good enough alone to keep the re-orders flowing. Most juice vendors don't take time to perfect unique recipes.

TFA/LA/TPA etc are better flavors but they require much more work to get them right most of the time. However, when they are right they are much better than CAP/FW.

One thing I've learned recently, Hangsen is the king of non NET tobacco flavors. Unbeatable IMO. From what I've read Hangsen also makes other great flavors but I've stuck with their tobaccos for now. I already have too many flavors and don't want to overwhelm my already overwhelmed head.

Thx for come backs... FW seems to have an edge on the simpler recipes...
because ?? --there might be some room to err on the proportions and it would be simpler to correct
... the drops are not as concentrated/potent , so normally you wouldn't be so far out of whack that you couldn't save it, or bring it back into a better proportion.
is my analogy correct?

I use 12.5% in 18mg 70/30 with all my FW & MBV. It works in almost all of the 75+ flavors I've tried.

The only flavor that didn't work is Sweet Tart.
11 % was a slightly sweet dust.
I upped it to 15% and it was a lil better.
18% and a lil mo betta.
Even at 18% I didn't like it so quit.
Cranberry was weak at 12.5% and seemed better at 13.5%

95% work for me at 12.5%
I did Honeydew & cantalope at 12% and they're ok but I think 12.5% would be better.

Some seem stronger than others at 12.5 but none seem overflavored or underflavored.
Some flavors are stronger than others.

YMMV

Anyone tried FW Double Apple> % to start with and any flavor that pairs well with it?

I wish there was a way to stixky it but with all flavor west flavorings start at 15%. Sarah and Jason have told me that is where they are designed to be mixed...NOW that being said if that is to strong or to weak for your personal preference adjust from there but almost all the flavors I mix from them are 15% except I like swedish fish at 13% because I like it better that way.
Hope that helps..

Thanks for this response - it does help. Is the swedish fish authentic flavor? I'm wanting to try that one also.

I'm trying to wrap my head around doing DIY with multiple flavorants.

Say all of these work at 12.5%:

Cherry
Banana
Cinnamon
Tobacco

If I want to use all of them in one flavor, do I put them all at 12.5% or in total I should have 12.5%, etc?

I've tried mixing liquids at 30% (ie. 8 or 9 flavors involved, all between 2-10% each), and all I taste is floral.

Total with all flavors dhould equal 12.5%.Which tobacco are you using because i used FW Coumarin Pipe tobacco at 10% and it was too strong, took it down to 5% and it was spot on.

You have to remember that while most of FW flavorings are best at 12.5%,not all of them are.It is a learning curve with FW,i use FW exclusively, except for some flavors they do not have i go to TPA,FA,Capella, etc. Some flavors like there Rocky Road,i tried at 10%,it tasted like wood,i backed it down to 3% and it was spot on.You just have to get to know FW flavorings.

Was coumarin tobacco, actually. It smells absolutely delicious, but at 25% all I get is floral. Thanks for the tip, I'll dip to <10%.

Flavors are subjective, but I couldn't disagree more. TPA/TFA started as a perfumery, and in my opinion, still tastes of perfume in most cases. Lorann is the cheapest of them all and are available even in Walmart. Very few of their flavors are really vapeable, once again, in my opinion.

Alot of vendors that make complicated and luscious juices use FW and Capellas as well as the rest. I would venture to say that if there is one other of the vendors that they use it would be Flavor Art. Flavor Art is from Italy and is a really good line of flavoring, and once again, in my opinion, head and shoulders above TPA/TFA and Lorann in quality.

I agree with you 100%,FA's liquids are excellent. They are the next go to vendor outside of my go to FW brand, and Capella. There are some flavors from FA that i take over Cap.,and the same holds true for Cap.Back to that taste is subjective thing again.
