One great big problem with vaping tobacco flavours is that nothing burns; and that smoke bit makes up quite a lot of the taste we were used to.

I can't say much about the tobacco flavours, all of them I tried so far, and quite a few tobacco liquids I tried, contain something I seem to be over-sensitive to; I am quite sure it's not supposed to taste like that. (I have a similar but far worse problem with 99 out of 100 perfumes.)

I am, however, perfectly happy with Tobacco Absolute from Perfumer's Apprentice, maybe that works out better for you, too.

I received my Tobacco Absolute yesterday and it's quite good, not sweet, nice tobacco body.
The best tobacco flavours from flavourart are perique black, dark vapure and latakia IMO, they also work great mixed with Tobacco Absolute from Perfumer's Apprentice.
I really like the TA mixed with FA latakia, very satisfying tobacco flavor.

Hey Garyd,

The former posters are right. You won't really get a good imitation of the cig flavor since there is no burning.
With that said, I love the Flavourart tobacco flavors. I would highly recommend watching This for a great tip on using them in your mixes.

Regards
Jim
I never said that it tasted like a real cigarette, all I said was it was a satisfying tobacco flavor. I believe the OP may be the one looking for the analog taste/flavor and of course it's not going to happen, all we can do is come as close as we can by experimenting with different mixes and since everyones tastebuds are different what tastes good to some may taste terrible to others.

Oops sorry Gary, I was thinking that you were the OP. I was actually directing my post at the op. My bad.

Funny thing-- when I smoked a pipe, I was always trying to find a tobacco that tasted the same in the bowl as it smelled in the pouch. With one lone exception (which became my everyday backy) I was always disappointed.

With vaping we have the opportunity to enjoy the complex tastes of fresh, aromatic tobacco and other flavors without the nasty tars and combustion byproducts of a burning cigarette, while still getting our nicotine.

We learned to associate the look, feel, smell and taste of a cigarette with soothing our craving to smoke. Initially we want to preserve as much of that experience as possible, but a PV will not and cannot be just the same.

But if we are open to changing our expectations and habits, with a little experience it can be better, much better than smoking.

Perique Black probably my favorite. Rather than tasting like a cigarette, to me it tastes much like a pipe tobacco smells. AlexTM, I believe, once described Perique Black as "pruney" - and I do taste a slightly fruity flavor that could be described this way. It also has vanilla and caramel tones on my palate, with a nuance of rum.

It's not as sweet as my description might make it sound.

Wooow, I could not say that better :)

Folks are having a hard time with FAs tobacco flavours. Max nailed it on the head in another thread. We weren't using them at the proper concentration to develop the full body of these flavours.

Woohoo! Thanks Max.

Mixed a bunch last night 12-13% in an 80/20 base of 25mg, with one drop of Wizard. Oh yeah baby they rock and roll.

  • dark vapure, cocoa
  • mellow sunset, cictrussy
  • latakia
  • virginia I was using 8% brings it to the surface
  • burley not a vape alone, needs to be mixed with something
  • desert ship, ooooooooh yeah baby, damn fine pipe base, straight or flavoured, and vapour wow.
I will be the first to admit that desert ship was way too floral for me, at low concentrations, but at 12%... it reminds me of a pipe tobacco I smoked years ago, the name finished with MORE in a yellow orangy tin with red letters Erinmore or something.

A little brandy in there or even brandy and a little orange...

12%! Yikes I'd like to see that thread too.
Ya gotta remember, Max and I were pipe and cigar smokers. Now the Desert Ship is a killer. This one is not for everyone, but I believe Max might just enjoy it.

As I said, I believe we were using them too diluted e.g recommendations of 1 drop/6ml etc... I can see myself going up to 15% on some. I wasn't worried with Max's %s because I knew I could always decrease them.

I'll be dripping DS during the hockey game tonight :D:D
