Hi all,

Still can't post in the DIY Flavoring area, so must ask questions here. Sorry.

I have all the ingredients and tools necessary to DIY. I understand all the concepts and have made some first attempts with little success.

I'm using an 80/20 PG to VG ratio. I'm mixing stuff at both 18mg nic strength and 8mg strength.

My flavor requirements aren't that complicated, I think.

I would like a nice Apple/Cinnamon with some definite cinnamon in it.

I would like a tart Watermelon.

I would like a juicy peach.

I would like a nice strong coffee.

All my flavors are from Perfumer's Apprentice. I have apple, cinnamon, peach, watermelon, and some ethyl maltol. I have mint candy, peppermint, menthol, bavarian cream, vanilla custard, coffee, mocha, blueberry, and chocolate.

I certainly don't expect anyone to type recipes in response to this. What I would love is a web site url, or a link back to a thread in the DIY area.

Many thanks. Eventually I'll be able to post in the proper area, but I refuse to splatter-shot messages just to make the quota.

Not quite sure what your question is, but i can tell you what i do...
do you have an eliquid calculator on your phone? There are a few out there to help you get started. I, personally, get a bad reaction to high PG amounts (sore throat, brown tongue and a return of my smoker's cough) so my set up is bass ackwards from yours(70/30 VG/PG)

I like my flavors a little on the strong side, so mine are around 20% and that 20% is considered part of your PG ratio. So if you want to make 10 ml of juice, add 2 ml of flavoring to your empty bottle and go from there. I am using straight 60mg nic & diluting with VG & PG to my personal ratio, but if you are using plain unflavored juice that you ordered already premixed at the 80/20 ratio, all you have to do is add 8 ml of it to your bottle.
If its too strong, cut flavor down in next bottle until u hit it just right...in a 10 ml bottle, 1 ml flavoring is 10%, 1.5 ml is 15%, and so on.
If thats what you are doing you're actually not vaping 80/20...by adding the 20% flavoring, you've changed your ratio to more like 85/15 and your nicotine is cut down by 20% also.
I'm not a fan of unflavored nic juice for this reason. I like to know what mg strength I'm vaping

You can download this calculator which has quite a few recipes already worked out for you. Be aware that different flavoring vendors make their flavors stronger or weaker than you might suspect. For instance Capella is almost always good mixed at 20% but Flavor Apprentice is stronger and should be mixed at lower percentages.

There are some recipes here. You can also do a Google search to find some more online. Taste is subjective so it's hard to tell you where to get started.

I stated by buying a few flavors I was pretty sure I would like. I did a 5ml test batch of each flavor first to see what they tasted like. Then I started mixing stuff together again in 5ml test batches. I started with about 5-10% flavoring and adjusted from there. You can always add, but you cannot take away. Then once I found a good one, I did a 30ml batch of it. It takes patience and experimentation to find what will work for you. :)

Almost all of the information you seek is in the General E Liquid section or subsection DYI. Always read the warnings if you are not ordering pre-mixed levels of Nic mixture. It appears that you have a nice selection of flavorings that will mix well. As stated above, mix up a 5ML batch and determine how many drops from your pipette equals 1 ML. Then using any of the calculators you can determine the amount of flavoring to add. Personally I just use a normal electronic calculator. If I start with 20 ML of base and want 10% of a flavor just multiply 20 X .10 = 2 ML flavoring. That is close enough for me to make most blends, realizing that it dilutes my basic mix by the % of flavoring I add.

Thank you to SusieQ and WhiteRabbit!!!

I did not see the recipe section on ecigexpress, so very grateful for that. Also, I missed the fact that flavoring dilutes the mix, but I would have figured it out and panicked a little bit. Now I see there is no cause for concern.

Thank you both for taking the time to reply.
