On average, it varies from 3-30%, which covers most flavor vendors. There's really no set average as some people like stronger flavors and will use more while others like lighter flavors and use less.

There are recommended flavor percentage suggestions posted in various threads here at ECF however, I generally don't go by those suggestions because I find them to be a bit off and there are often hundreds of replies and no way to really keep things organized. That's one downside to not being able to edit your thread after X minutes on a forum - there's no real way to keep things updated easily.

With TPA (The Flavor Apprentice), I've never exceeded 15%. With Flavor West, IIRC, 17% is the highest and with Flavour Art I hardly use more than 10%. For Capella's it really depends; I'ved used as little as 5-7% up to 15% as they seem to vary more than others I've tried.

Another vendor, OneOnOne Flavors, I typically stay in the 10-15% range unless it's a natural flavor and then up to 20-25% since they are quite a bit lighter.

20% flavor may be good for one person and 10% may be good for another. Taste is very subjective so there is no set guide as to how much flavor is an average amount. Let your taste buds be the judge of how much flavor is enough. Start with the lowest recommended percentage and work up from there.

Definitely good advice. By starting low and easing up, you'll save time and money. When I first started DIY I thought everything needed to be at 15% and became frustrated when nothing tasted right at all. Part of it was due to taste bud overload and the other from where I had just stopped smoking. As you get used to vaping and flavors, you'll soon find that less is more is most all cases.

And taste does change over time. As an ex smoker things I hardly tasted at 10% - 15% when I first quit, now taste great at 5 - 10% after being smoke free for 9 months.

Indeed it does! After being smoke free for just 3 months I was able to taste complex juices, dissect them and be able to fully appreciate the time that went into blending them, whether from a vendor or my own DIY creations. Make dropping the cash a bit easier because your exp. changes.
