Flavors that may contain Diacetyl, are there really this many?

My offer is because I plan on vaping them. I might put some coconut flavoring in my fake almost ice cream, but primarily I'll vape them.

Intrested on your opinion of why your not worried about the custard flavors. I really enjoy the cream flavors and those seem to be the ones that may contain the most. I have read some of your post on the link above and you seem like you are a someone to go to in the world of vapping.

I was handling some 100 mg nicotine, and even though there was plenty of ventilation, I got a buzz out of the fumes. Of course I immediately stopped, but I must confess I enjoyed the buzz - so much that for a full thirty minutes afterwards, I felt no need to vape, which for me is somewhat unusual. It made me think, if someone invented a safe way to "sniff" the fumes, I would be the first customer in line. No more wrapping coils and filling tanks, no more "steam" into my lungs, and no more chemicals to inhale - except for nicotine of course.... For now, I am enjoying my unflavored nicotine.... And I am vaping less because of it. For me, half the chase was in pursuit of flavors I love. But I figure if I like the taste of chocolate, I can always eat some, not vape some.

I don't know about the vape with no flavor I had vapers tung a couple time for a week. That was the worst two weeks of vapping I ever had. Kept adding more flavors to my juice to the point I was killing coils very quickly. Think the only flavor I could taste was cinnamon red hots and that have been the cause. I don't know if I could do with no flavor.

Agreed mostly absolutely! BUT...

...how is anyone to make an informed choice when somewhere between 300-500 chemicals go into the creation of just ONE single flavor - and none of them are listed on any type of ingredient list anywhere?

We learned about the dangers of diacetyl/similar due to factory workers inhaling them for years - so now there's information to be found.

What about the 'other thousands' of unidentified chemicals we're all vaping daily? Just one of the thousands (diacetyl) has now been found to CROSS THE BLOOD BRAIN BARRIER and it's actions correlate strongly with Alzheimers The butter flavorant, diacetyl, exacerbates... [Chem Res Toxicol. 2012] - PubMed - NCBI

So much for the ole "GRAS" label having any validity, eh? (but that's nothing new for those that know the history of the food/chemical "authorities").

Chemicals. Thousands. Totally unknown to us (except the 3 that were found to destroy lungs & publicized).

WE are the long-term studies. And that's not fear-mongering, that's just a plain ole fact.

Wow! Another item to add to the "avoid eating and/or using" (as in cookware, lined cans, etc) list as it causes Alzheimer's. So where's the FDA on this? Reminds me that I stopped using plastic cookware in the microwave years ago but see its still sold for that purpose. A quick search of the net shows a plethora of "its not safe to use" with impressive, detailed, "science" proving it... didn't see a single site saying its safe. Whoever, sorry can't remember, posted about the dog, bike, vape sites had it right. What is it with these people? What kick do they get out of the "chicken little" thing? There are sooo many on the net. Years ago I used the net for truly informative information... like mites in a cat's ears.... now those resources have been infiltrated by these types and lost. I mean, I don't want to loose a night's sleep thinking I'll be faced with thousands in vet bills for simple ear mites... yeh, those are the stories. Makes me mad actually. So, should microwavable plastic cookware be banned by the FDA? Should I trust the FDA to care about my health when deciding to ban or not ban anything? Who do I turn too? Is the FDA actually there to protect me? Truthfully.... I think not. So, should I trust a "chicken little" on the net? Truthfully, I think not. I don't know these people offline but suspect they've got some serious issues. I would be foolish to let them influence my decisions... period. Life's a crap shoot... I'll roll my own dice.

Nicotine by itself is not actually without flavor. It has a natural taste of its own.

Please understand that many people are not drinking tap water for instance. Many people in my community have distillers that distill the water. We have a local farm that raises clean meat (grass fed, no chemicals, etc.) as well as numerous folks who grow organic vegetables.

In this day and age it's really *not* that difficult to avoid a lot of the "crap" you speak about.

You are right that there are many risks in life. However, it is fully possible to minimize them as much as humanly possible, i.e., what is within your control.

I read this topic from that standpoint....people who are interested in minimizing their vaping risks substantially and materially as much as possible.

Some people say it's absurd given that we were once smokers and doing all this damage. I feel the opposite. It is precisely BECAUSE we smoked and did damage that we are now left with lungs that are not at all 100% healthy, as an ex smoker I know my lungs have been abused. So, to that end, I am going to be as kind to them as possible.

Didn't mean for anyone to take offense at my post. I don't drink tap water either...I was more just sort of typing stream of consciousness style. Do your thing, and don't let some schmuck like me get under your skin. ;)

Hey, no problem.

I am not really *worried* about flavorings anyway, but since I am easy to please I see no reason not to just cut to the chase and make a DIY juice that has the least amount of flavorings that seem to be implicated for possible problems.

As a matter of fact, lately I find just putting a little bit on non oil based peppermint into some unflavored nic suits me just fine

...and I'll admit that knowing that everything I use from TPA (I'm not a desert flavor fan) is diacetyl free is nice. I guess it's easy to not be as concerned about things when you're not the one affected...

What are you using as far as a pg vg ratio. Maybe I will make a small bottle just to try it out.

I personally use a 50/50 mixed with 3% distilled water for increased flavor and throat hit. But you can try any ratio you like. I hear some Nic solutions are very very clean, and therefore have less flavor. Wizard Labs and Heartland Vapes have more flavor.

They are the only ones I will buy flavors from for the foreseeable future..... But I only used two other vendors and I didn't like the way there flavors reacted. So no big loos here.

I have never ordered nic from those vendors... Wizard has good prices to bad they don't sell bigger quantities.

This is how all flavor manufacturers should post/sell their flavorings. Kudos to PA for demonstrating competence in their field.
Yes - I'd have thought all the major players would be well aware of this by now, and at least be batch testing to see what's actually happening with their own in order to inform or reassure the end user!

Thank you......
:)
