Am i expecting too much flavour or am i missing something, i have a vision crystal mini with normal clearomiser (pictured).
Ive bought a pic 'n' mix from vapeescape uk from the grizwald range.

Now on to the flavours, dont get me wrong i can taste them but its more of a nice hint than a full on taste in my mouth. I hear some of you describing these flavours and i can taste it by your descriptions better than via my vapouriser lol. Is there places in the uk i should be looking for better juices or is it what im using thats lacking..... any help is much appreciated.
6 weeks off the ciggies so if indeed it is mostly a hint of flavour, then that will do as i wont revert!

Thanks middleborn, not sure on the shots of flavour part but im currently vaping jamaican fruit punch and that is better, so maybe im being a bit brash here i just wondered how intense others flavours are. Another order at a different vendor was placed tonight so ill see how that goes. Currently just going for 5ml samples as i dont want to jump the gun and find i like other vendors more than the one ive ordered a big bottle from.

Thinking i need a spare clearo too so i dont have to keep washing one out after tasting juices......ahhhh the wonderful world of vaping :)

Damaged taste buds can take up to 6 months to heal. Even after that, most vapors get a tongue block for a day or two when they can't taste their vape flavors.

I recommend that you allow some of your vapor to be exhaled through your nose. Our sense of smell is actually quite important for us to interpret many flavors with food and drink. You'll understand this fact if you recall how food can taste bland when you have a really bad head cold.

Some juices don't reach their full flavor potential unless they have had 1-2 weeks to steep (mature).

It's my personal experience that any string-wicked juice delivery device, like a clearomizer or a vivi nova tank, will not provide the best flavor production with some juice flavors. You might want to try a cartomizer which I feel gives better flavor reproduction. Everyone has their own preference in the juice delivery devices that they use, so your experience may vary. All these options can be confusing to a new vapor, but in reality it is a good thing, because one device might work better for you than another.

Some flavors are notoriously known as stronger flavors than others. Cinnamon, menthol, and the mints come to mind. However, I don't advise using cinnamon in any device that uses clear plastic, as that flavor can crack or melt the plastic.

Thanks baditude, ill look into another type of tank and may not just grab a spare clearo as i was going too.

1-2 weeks steeping will have to be when i build a bigger collection as i obviously need something to vape.

So steeping i think ive read is, lid off in a cool dry place for the designated amount of time?
Typically, sniff the juice to see if there is an alcohol or chemical smell to it. If so, shake the bottle well, then remove the cap for the night to allow any alcohol base used in the mix to evaporate. Replace the cap and shake well again. You can test the juice daily after that to see if it improves.

Some flavors don't need steeping at all. These are the juices that are made in large batches, the liquid is then cut into bottles, and rest on a shelf in a stockroom until placed in an order for delivery. They've already had time to steep.

The custom-made flavors are mixed at the time of order, and often have a birth or creation date printed on the label. These are the ones that might need steeping time. Tobacco, coffee, and desert flavors often require the longest steep times. Also flavors that are mostly vg take longer to steep, as vegetable glycerin does not take up flavors as well as pg does.

Thanks for this thread. I've been looking at various types of clearomizers for a month so its very timely. I'm going to pass on them and stick with my Boge LR 2.0 cartomizers which I get great flavor from. I was only looking for a quick way to test juices as I don't drip on an atty very well and thought I might save myself some cleaning and expense. The more I think about it, it just makes sense: An atty surrounded by a lot of juice from the filler instead of just on a skinny string on it is going to give more flavor. Now I just need to find a good, easy to drip with, cheap atty for testing juice.

For the first 8 months my taste buds were shot. I made my own nic juice and I was making it with 50% flavour, sometimes even more, and I stuck to just a few simple flavours. I think I could have happily have vaped double dark chocolate flavouring straight. Then kinda overnight I started craving different flavours. Am experimenting now with fruits, desserts and tobaccos at much more subtle levels. I change flavours regularly and I'm really noticing an improvement in my pallate, and my enjoyment.

Hello,

I have the same problem with flavor block, and it's really annoying. I thought I was back when I moved from a DY4 from Decadent Vapors to a Pineapple from TPA, because the first one was like vaping nothing, and with the second one I could feel the flavor. But now, after 10 days vaping pineapple, this has gone too. Now, if try again the DY4, it taste delicious for maybe one hour. After that, it disappears again. One thing that I realized is that, at the end of the day, I have the same feeling in my tongue as when you drink a too hot coffee, that "burnt tongue" feeling. And also, in the mornings, I have an acid feeling/taste in my mouth.

That makes me think if I have some allergy, or if this VG or PG are really safe to use (if they irritate so much my tongue, could it irritate or damage my lungs too?). It's really annoying, and make me not enjoying so much my vaping experience right now. I have a Vamo with two vivi novas and I recently bought an AGA-T too. I love the vapor production from my AGA, as it produces a thick cloud of vapor every time I use it, but no flavor. Maybe the more vapor I get, the worse the problem is. I don't know what to do to help me. I'm drinking a lot of water in the last two months, I'm cleaning my teeth with Biotene, and having some fluor pills, that the employee from the pharmacy recommended to me, changing the flavor more often (now, I'm trying 3 flavors during the day: Pineapple in the morning, strawberry in the afternoon, and DY4 in the evening), as I mix my own liquids, I've tried to lower the PG and raised the VG, and also added distilled water to try to add moisture to the the vapor and see if this helps to keep my mouth wet...

Nothing is really working. Now, the 3 flavors are disappearing. I was wondering how long this problem will last, or if it will be permanent because my tongue is more sensitive than other people ones (It's usually more sensitive to flavors and to hot than other people's tongues). And don't know also if this happens to everybody, or only to a few people, but it's really demotivating :(.

Juice acts as a sufficant so you need to hydrate with water. I wouldn't add it to your juice it will just ruin the favor.

Try a pg/vg blend and keep in mind a lot of juice vendors have very "light" the favors. You get used to it and soon you don't taste it anymore.

Oh yeah almost forgot, brush your tongue when you brush your teeth and don't use those non burning mouth washes, they kill your ability to taste.

For tobacco flavour try Pink Spot 'Tobacco' juice from Libert Flights. Not overpowering like most tobacco juices and with a hint of 'smoke' flavour. The nearest taste (for me) to actual smoking i have found.
I have bought juices which have left me underwhelmed before but after a couple of weeks steeping are fantastic.
Have to say that for me cartomisers produce a lot more flavour than clearomisers.

Sorry but I couldn't find the translation for "sufficant". Do you mean it suffocate the taste buds? If so, why are we breathing it? It could be really dangerous to the lungs if juice keep the lungs without oxygen!

About the mix, I'm trying to add less nicotine (8mg final mix), and less PG, as it seems to make my tongue drier. And don't know why, but I prefer to see a cloud of vapor instead of feeling a strong throat hit :)

Yesterday, I also changed the flavor and used another flavor I have (DK Tab Base, from TPA), because I hate menthol and don't like pineapple so much, so I was really hating it. And I can feel how this one makes my tongue very very dry with just two drags.

It's amazing how, the same base mix (80% VG, 8mg nicotine level), has so different feeling, depending on the aroma I use. I'm keeping using this mouth drier because I want to try one thing: as other mixes where hiding the dry feeling, maybe they were making the problem worse. As this mix makes my mouth dry, I vape less, and drink more, so maybe it helps better that way.

PG absorbs or at least locks in moisture, part of why vaping dries you out. Nicotine has a taste and it isn't a good one, the lower the nicotine level the better the flavor.
