Fliller CLOGGED under bridge

I was trying to dry burn the primer out of my atty because it was tasting aweful, but for some reason I wasn't seeing the coil glow red. Under the bridge looked allot thicker than usual..
So I took my tweezers and pulled out ALLOT of filler clogged under the bridge, that was also burnt.

This is a fresh atty, I had to change because my week old one started having a permanent burnt taste.
I didn't screw the atty up did I? I only have one more spare, i'm really knew, I don't want to keep doing the wrong things :/
I REFUSE to go back to analogs, I WILL make this work!

Well... I think dry burning your atty is a mistake. I would advise against ever dry burning an atty. The only thing you need to do to get primer out of an atty is to blow it out into a paper towel.

I never dry burn mine either. Never have never will, these things are designed to be wet when power is applied creating heat. You will dry it out so bad the stainless steel wick will disintegrate before your eyes.

You have to be careful... there IS wicking material underneath the bridge of most atomizers... if you pull that out, then all it will ever be good for is dripping, because it will no longer be able to wick liquid from a cartridge that is butted up to it.

I would highly advise against picking around underneath the bridge of a new atty, but that is just me.

I don't know how else to clean it :/
I don't have alcohol except face astringent.

You don't need to clean it, just blow through it from the threaded end onto a paper towel, dab on the paper towel after blowing through it, do this a few times. Then apply a couple drops of juice onto the bridge as the addy needs to be wet.

Seriously, I have never, ever cleaned any of my atomizers. If it seemed like they were not producing very much vapor, or they sounded a little too 'gurgly' I would blow them out from the battery end into a paper towel just like Sheryl suggested. That is the extent of my atomizers' cleaning experience.

[EDIT: I can't say that truthfully. I did try cleaning a very old atomizer once with rubbing alchohol and it did help for a short while. There are also atomizer / cartridge combinations called 'Cartomizers' that I rinse out regularly - so although these are different instances, I don't want to sound misleading either]

Although some people swear by this dry burning process I do not think it is necessary for you to enjoy your product.

If you have a new atomizer then you should do as most manufacturers suggest really.
Just pop on a new cart and start vaping, or if you have some favorite juice, drip 2 drops on there and start vaping. Don't inhale at first to make sure there isn't any nasty primer taste left over. If there is.. keep puffing several times, add another drop or two (if you are dripping) if need be, and the flavor will come through and the primer taste will disappear.

Now you have a nice brand new atomizer that is all fired up, flavored up, and ready to go and you have not come anywhere near wondering if you're gonna break it, burn it up, mess it up, or what not.

All of these are choices you have to make for yourself from amongst the volumes of information on this forum I know, but really just keep it simple at first, and try out all those other things as you get going if you want to.

I too don't dry burn and it's too bad for newbies because there is all kinds of 'fixes' out there. Some of these fixes were 'last ditch efforts' to revive but some are now 'SOP' for some people and are thought to be SOP by new members - in general, they aren't.

Even I soak in 151 as a routine cleaning but only because it has worked for me but probably the best newbie advice is to not do anything until you think you have a dead atty and then the first thing to do is just blow it out by mouth only from the battery end with a paper towel at the other end. And then the other end and see if it works then. If not, ONLY then ask what you should do next. But this post like trog has mentioned will get buried in just a day or less so at least you know my views on it. lol.

Thank you I have been worrying too much. I just want the best out of this experience and don't want to screw it up because in a sense people make me want to be very fragile with it with all the DO THIS and DON'T DO THIS and conflicting opinions in between.
