Hmmm... my Pico mods have been very easy to get along with, at least for my modest tank collection. They've all worked well.

It would be helpful to know what tank/atty you're working with. I had a Tron-T tank with an airflow adjustment collar that prevented a good connection to the 510 on the mod.

And yeah, a burnt anything taste is a dead giveaway for a coil change.

Don't give up in the Pico yet. There aren't many devices at that price point with its reliability and versatility.
thanks

If you are getting a burnt/metallic taste, yes, it's time to change the coil.

I'm agreed on getting your setup working well prior to buying another. I'd try to watch a few tutorials on the subject on YouTube for your device, most folks do well with pico mods and don't have issues with them, they're a good setup. I think you are just on your learning curve, and if you learn your device well and its limitations and the things you like about it, it will be easier to select your next or backup mod. You do seem to have been having a lot of issues, but it seems that you are slowly resolving them and that is what matters. More information up front and searching for a fix first by googling might help you faster, since it's hard to give advice when it's a general description, and pictures help too.

To confirm your coil is dead/burnt you can easily disassemble it to get to the cotton inside, if it looks browned or blackened, then you have your connection between burnt taste== time to change coils.

Good luck.
