Okay, so I've been using Fluval in my carts to hold juice lately. My question is, which one is better in terms of vaping? Are they the same?

My issues with Fluval is that the material is very (what's a good word) ANNOYING! It's really fibery (not a word, you know what I mean) and sometimes those fibers just stick out.

So, any suggestions? Blue Foam looks nice, it's one piece all together and from my understanding it only takes a little tiny square.

I watched this video: YouTube - Joye Tecc 510 Titan Blue Foam Mod E-Cig VaporHead

I thought the filling of the cart with nothing in it was a little strange, and then putting the small piece of blue foam in it....? Is that little piece supposed to absorb it all? My concern is taking a puff and getting a mouth-full of juice.

Thanks for any help! :D

The bit at the top acts as a wick. It is no suppose to hold all the liquid, just keep it back until it is drawn to the atty.

You can do the same thing with the stock fill too.

Without so much fill the cart holds a bit more and I think it wicks better.

(Sorry, can't remember the name of the formite that first did this...)

I use the blue foam but I'm still a newbie. I like how easy it is to work with but it took me some work to get the sizes right. Too small and it leaks, too big and it clogs. I've made some darts today and all is well so far.

I haven't tried fluval but I tried cleaning and reusing the poly from a prefilled cart and it was too frustrating.

MY only advice would be to make sure you don't get any drops in the vent and do not over fill. When you Put a new cart on, give it a little to get on the atty and wick. I never get juice in my mouth anymore. Cut your pieces just slighter wider than the cart itself.

I've tried them both, but I had too much trouble with Leakage from the Blue Foam.
I didn't really like Fluval either, it's really no better than the stock polyfill.

I use PTB, works perfectly. Much better wicking than the stock plyfill, very little leakage.

I'll brb with a link.

The empty carts I got when i first ordered my ego with tea bag. I just haven't had much luck with the Fluval. It seems that it doesn't hold a lot of juice and for some reason I feel like soon after I need to put more in.

I don't know what "wick" means  like how it drips onto the atty?

By that do you mean the extremely thin space between the cone and the cart?

did you ever use a Zippo Ligher?
A wick is a method to get liquid from one place to another....

Basically, as far as Ecigs go, wicking means the process of getting the liquid from the cart to the atomizer.

PTB does that pretty efficiently.

When looking at the bottom of the cart(the part that snaps into the atty) You will see the opening that you put the filler in and on the sides you will see an opening on either side. Don't get any liquid in these side vents.(assuming you are using 510 round tip carts)

I feel so stupid . I assume you mean the bottom of the cartridge where it connected to the atomizer...? I use round and whistle tip. I prefer whistle tip. I've had liquid there before...am I in trouble?

Wick. A candle wick wicks liquid wax to be consumed by the flame.

To vaporize a small amount of liquid with a tiny heating element you can either wick it or spray it. Some real early gasoline engines used a wick to transport the gas into the cylinder. We now use injectors to spray the gas in better than carbs used to spray the gas in.

Wick.

More on wicking...just observation really..

Did you ever dip a paper towel into a glass of water and see the water rise UP into the paper towel?
Why does the water defy gravity and go UP?

That's wicking

I may just be talking out of my you know what now though....

I'm not trying to sound smart or say you're wrong. Wouldn't that just be absorption?

Also, perhaps I should clarify...

The filler material (be it fluval, blue foam, PTB, Stock Polyfill) in the cartridge is NOT the wick.
The wick is the metal mesh material on the bridge of the atty.

Saying that PTB wicks well may be the wrong way to say it...
The wick on the atty absorbs the liquid from the PTB more efficiently than it does from the stock polyfill..
