Now that I am using it a little more, things are getting better... Seems like the best way to get things moving along with these is to prime them up by direct dripping on the atty up top... And just aid the wicking with a few manual drops here and there.

I have to be honest, the vaping performance, when it's hitting correctly, is outstanding. Since I'm pretty used to having to constantly feed an atty or carto anyways, the lack of proper wicking really isn't going to kill the deal now that i think about it. I'll probably just continue to direct-drip on this as necessary. The amount of vapor I'm getting reminds me of my LR 510 cartos, but even better... and yet, I'm pretty sire those 510 LRs were even lower resistance (more power hungry). Hard to complain

Just for good measure.

One thing I always do with my CE2s now is just to remove the silicone cup over the wicks and toss it. Now the new o-ring (middle one) fits and seals onto that cup so nothing leaks and nothing cramps the wicks, and to refill, just pop it out and drip, no syringe.

OP, it just sounds like you didn't let it wick enough at first. Good idea would be to drop a few drops of e juice onto the coil after first filling. Now that you've burnt the juice there cos of not wicking enough though, probably a good idea to just wash em out and dry burn before you try again.
