I didn't see TCR, I didn't even see Celsius :/

That said the build quality looks excellent.
Your talking about temperature control right, I feel stupid asking that but its on this link starts at 2:29

Never mind I see what your asking. Im not sure but being a SKK board it should have it.

Hmm, normally both 3f and FC tell us when its SXK. I'm not going to see the vid any better the second time around.

There is nothing in the video you missed, just showed the basic operation. Didn't even show the atomizer being placed on the device so we could see if it asks the new atomizer question.

I have my doubts this is SXK but I'm hopeful.

Greetings. I've been comparing prices of mech mod clones (Nemesis, SMPL) on both Fasttech and Focalecig, and it seems that the latter has them much cheaper! But the lack of reviews or discussions worries me. Anyone with prior experience to share? I don't have any experience with mechs, which is why discussion about a specific model's flaws and strengths will greatly aid my post-purchase experience.

You have to be really careful with the SMPL, as it doesn't have the traditional top cap with positive pin. There's some info in this thread: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/a-smpl-explosion.677217/ If you're OK with ALWAYS taking the necessary safety precautions, it's a really nice mod. I don't own a Nemesis, so can't say anything about those.

The switch is a little crunchy on the SMPL, so it would need a little sanding and finessing. Most people have preferred the version with the retainer ring, not the screw. Don't get the black one. I was able to scratch the finish off mine with my fingernail, all the way down to bare brass. There's a 1:1 clone at FT, for around $17. If I were to buy another one, it would probably be that one.

The button twisted a little and locked down when firing, fubared the Chalice III somehow (shows F1 all the time now), melted the plastic button some, and collapsed the spring, so NO I am not liking it.

I haven't had the button melting issue,i did have 1 or 2 times where the button has twisted a bit,but only a few times.I also did have a spring collapse, but that was due to a very badly made atty that shorted it out.I knew something wasn't right with that atty as it screwed down really hard, but i tried it anyway, and the spring went down.Did you try the chalice on another mod before this happened? If not, could be a bad one.
On the bright side,if you would decide to try it again, the actual Reo springs and positive contact fit this perfectly.I upgarded both since i had to change the spring anyway.I also upgraded to a real Reo button because i wanted to use a button cover, that required a little bit of filing in the button hole, but was a very easy task to do,and for the contact,2 springs, button, and a button cover only ran me just over $20.

Thank you so much for this information about hybrid mods. You've potentially saved my life :D I'll be looking hard at the SMPL again, as few mods have its simple and elegant design that I'm fawning over..

I'm looking at that same clone ($17) as well, but I'm wondering if it is any different from focalecig's where it's selling for $11. Would you mind taking a look at it for me? I can pm you the link :D

Just make sure that the pin on your atty always protrudes from the threads with no play whatsoever. I love mine. One other precaution you can take with the SMPL is to use a button top batt. But always checking your atty pin is best.

Looks like the one at FC has a magnet switch, whereas the 1:1 at FT has a spring switch. SMPL springs tend to start off kinda stiff, and I don't have any mods with magnet switches to compare, but I've heard that magnets are butter-smooth. Some people consider magnets as upgrades. The only thing I would worry about is that the SMPL switch is low-profile, so there's not a lot of room in there for magnets - so your throw would be super short, or the magnets would be super thin, in which case, very fragile - and good luck finding replacement magnets not if, but when they break. You can find them, but it may end up costing more than the $6 difference. Or you can take the magnets out and make your own spring out of coax cable when that happens. I hear Nemesis springs work too, but oddly, Nemesis springs don't.

One other difference might be in how well the top caps are attached. The authentics are milled out of one solid hunk of metal - most, if not all, of the clones are made out of hollow tubes with press-fit tops. The 1:1 at FT looks clean to me (no visible seam at the top); take a look at FC's pics and see how well they compare (I couldn't tell from the pics). I think mine is the $15 one in black - you can definitely see where the top cap connects. I accidentally kneeled on mine (with a Squape R attached) and it split apart, and does so from time to time now, but no big deal - just hammer it back in, still works great.
