Well, the Slug has departed Opa Locka, FL. Next stop? Kentucky? Arkansas? Shenzen? Luxembourg? Ancient Babylon?

Worse. The lost city of Atlantis

No, Roxy can't go all authentic :D. But, there are no Eviva clones so when one popped up in the classies, I made an offer.

I need a Gus Estia clone now, which also don't exist. That one is a pretty penny so I won't be getting that anytime soon unless Nikki can convince Robbot or someone its worth making ;)

I decided to order the little flash e vapor VS and thought I'd try the new V4 kayfun, in black of course. Thanks for passing along the replacement New Year code. Figured if I like the small flash it'll be a good choice in standard size for my atomizer less Kato mod.

That's what's nice about this thread. Helpful folks who gently explain the difference between an IPX and SX mini, to those shouting warnings about taking a screwdriver to certain non-adjustable 510 connectors. Always helpful.

I spun the FC Wheel of Destiny hoping to score a couple of $10 codes. First spin, nada. Second spin netted me this:

Probably not something I would have purchased but, hey, a $30 freebie is kind of nice.

Just ordered another Kayfun v4 because of the 15% code

The $22 version with black o-rings ($19 after the code). The red o-ring kit has less spares and the Robbot doesn't have any and is way more than it's worth, IMO.
iwas looking at that one too, wondering how it compares to the black oring one you got from FT... hmm

So I've been playing with the Hana Mini clone which finally showed up yesterday.
My initial impressions:
For some odd reason, seeing the red led come on INSIDE the unit when I plug it in to charge amuses the heck out of me.
It's rather thick, and I'll be glad when I get the Cloupor because the screws are annoying.
It looks rather pimp with my N22 sitting on it.
What I got in the mail appears to be black even though I swear I ordered a grey one. I won't quibble since I ordered it as a project box. It looks tiny, but it's just so thick and definitely (for me anyway) not pocketable. I can see, however, blinging it out a bit and using it on a night out on the town. It's cute and could easily lend itself to being a fashion vape
The performance, otoh, is slightly underwhelming. It gets points for being able to run my .7 ohm Hobo build, but it's a massive battery hog for some reason. It also gets points for the USB port NOT being on the bottom of the unit. The chip has so far been accurate in reading all my coils. It also responds fairly quickly to waking it up from sleep with the tap-twice method. If I have one major gripe, beyond the battery life issue (which I can work around with higher ohm builds so not truly a big), it's the buttons. I loathe these buttons. More specifically I dislike the recessed circle surrounding the firing button being so much bigger than the actual button. That button, at least, should have been about as big as recessed circle itself. The other two aren't as annoying, but the pointy little buggers hurt.

So, having said all that I give it a solid 8. I can use it with my gennies and it makes three devices I can recharge on the go. The
Cloupor will be a fourth. The iStick which I'm learning not to dislike (as long as the 510 continues to work) is the only one without a replaceable battery. So I think I'm happily set enough to resist the lure of another mod ( looking at you sx zero and sx mini :p). Being tempted by atty's is an entirely different story

Many seem to agree that the red o-ring atomizers aren't very good so I'm staying away from them. Other than an o-ring in the base, my FT clone is working great. I replaced the o-ring (#16 in the diagram) is too small and doesn't seal very well, allowing juice to go into the chamber where the little spring sits and the air channels are. This caused it to leak a bit out of the air holes and around the ring a bit. I replaced the o-ring and it seems to work ok now. Other than that and the fact that it doesn't work well with ni200, I really like the vape from the v4 which is why I ordered another one. I also have a black version ordered and that should ship tomorrow from GA. Once I get the leaking fixed, I try a ni200 build to see how that works.

the 510 pin of my sxmini is broken.. sigh.. remember: don't touch (even look at, lol) the screw.
time to dyi, gonna try to see if i can fix it..

well, the pin isn't broken. it's the gasket/insulator, which is pushed by the spring. curios way to make the pin floating: the gasket is pushed by the spring, and the gasket pushes the screw? but that gasket is made by teflon or something like this, and gets degraded; so, if you insert an atty with a very long 510, the pressure can make the screw is buried into the below gasket.
i think it's like the usual problem of the vamo's 510, dunno

You should look at a VS DNA30 or rDNA40. The rDNA40 addresses all of the issues I had (same as you) with other mods and the DNA30 is a great compliment to the rDNA40.

I briefly thought about the rDNA40, but I had no interest in switching to nickel so that sorta sent that out the window. Plus I'd decided against getting another $100+ mod without waiting it out and seeing how it maintains itself over time.

I'm thinking with the Cloupor having an actual evolv chip that it'll likely address most of my issues with this device within the same price point. Cheaper actually. But thanks for the suggestion.

When angelcigs had their crazy blowout sale last month, I decided to get the thinner walled Cartel clone in both brass and copper (even with their crazy shipping the pair was under $30). Pretty much because of the good reviews here of the focalecig offering. Even without the extra thick walls of the better clones or original its a really nice mod. I think you'll really enjoy it once it arrives. Especially since its one of the nicer clones.

Thanks for input, Brian. I'm not entirely sure I'll use this gear. I'm pretty well set on tube mechs so I may try to turn these into some funding for other ventures. But, I guess it wouldn't hurt to run the 18650 tube for a day or two. :)
