I'm good on the top lighting, just need the sides. I'll hit up Wal-Mart and peruse the selection for side lighting. I like the ones Weezy posted. I may build a tubular frame so I can clamp lights wherever I want them.

This is my current set up - white muslin over a big, heavy duty laser printer box:

That ish looking proper bro. I'm thinking of using design cloths for different backgrounds.

I just spent my drive home chain vaping the Aqua v2 at 50 to 70 watts no problem, dramatic difference as I couldn't get much over 30 watts with my micro coil builds.

Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

I did a new build in my Orchid a couple hours ago with spaced coils and it is working better. I can vape at 45 watts with no dry hits but its a little to warm for me. I am guessing I could go higher. I use spaced coils on my silica cord builds every once in awhile and it always worked good, although I never tried it with cotton till today. I am getting a more dense and saturated vape this way.

I too fell to Rips wicked ways

So after all the talk of spaced coils in here, decided to give it a go today on the aqua v2, will say can go a lot high in power, but of course with more power there is a lot more heat too, normally vape at 0.50ohms, with the spaced coils I came out at 0.30ohms, not sure yet if I like it better over micro coils yet.

Ok, so on these photo boxes, what would happen if I used colors on the bottom and back. Would the pics be dark?

It will depend on how bright the light source is and the angle it comes into the box, but for the most part darker colors reflect less light. Also, the type of bulb you use will give different colors of white, some bulbs give a yellowish cast as the example below. And LED's come in a wider range of colors than any bulbs you buy at the store, myself I'd steer clear of LED's unless you know what your getting into with them and I don't. A white poster board having a denser surface will reflect more light then loose knitted white cloth. When I was into photography and dabbled in some portrait shoots sometimes I would set a slave flash behind the subject facing toward the back drop so the light from that flash would hit the back drop and act as a fill, when aimed right and at the right distance there would be a bright white round area behind the subject with the light fading toward the outer edges. Sometimes I would set one on each side, off camera and get different effects. You will have to experiment with manual exposure and focal length settings to get the full effect when playing with light, if you leave the camera on automatic the camera will compensate and you won't see the drastic differences. I'd get some different back drops, cloth, papers and such as well as different colors and patterns and play with it, but it's easy to start paying too much attention to the back drops and you'll loose the subject of your photo. Try setting the camera to macro (close up) so you have a short focal length, that will keep the object in focus and blur anything in front or behind, I like these photos because your eye and thoughts go right to the subject of your photo, your not looking at the subject for a second or two then what else is in the photo.

I miss my 35 mm camera's, back when there was no auto setting, you had to think about your subject, the lighting, the environment, how you wanted your photo to appear and had to choose a lens, the type of film and adjust the settings on your camera. When everything was right you'd get some amazing photographs! These digital's suck, no view finder to look through and your limited on settings, unless you spend big bucks on professional cameras which makes no sense to me. An expensive digital over a 35 mm, your not saving any money to get the same photo, just quicker I suppose, but you still have to print it and there's that cost...... When digital's started to become popular I sold my Nikon's and my equipment quick to recoup some of my investment before the prices plummeted, I'm glad I did because today they would only be worth penny's on the dollar.

I posted a couple days ago that I would have to fix the voltage drop on the wotofo ZNA I got, well I put my foot in my mouth because I was assuming something that wasn't there. The main body is coated, I was sure it was a non-conductive coating and it is when I checked with my meter. As you can see in the pics below the coating covers the threads for the top cap, however I checked and found there is no voltage drop between the body and the top cap, zero. Apparently there is enough bare metal exposed in the thread's that it's getting a solid connection. Been using it the last few days, it's been working perfectly. :)

Just going by my build you may be able to get a 9 wrap of 26ga 2.4mm ID spaced duals at about 0.5, my 8 wrap reads 0.4 with little leftover room. Yeah 70w was neat to be able to do but way too hot for me, I like a cooler to warm vape most times so I'm happy with a trouble free 35w with the occasional bump to 45-50w as desired.

Yes I used 26 gauge too, I started off with a wider diameter, but didn't like the lag in heat up on the coils, so went with a smaller diameter, not sure what it is, about 1-1.5mm diameter, I do agree the flavor does seemed improved with the spaced coils, still vaping at 25 watts though, think I need a different drip tip, this metal one I am using, just heats up to much if go to about 35 watts.

searching for suitable screws to make the spaced coils easier, thanks.. ;)

got a cartel and a $10 coupon in the destiny wheel, in 5 tries. i'm very satisfied with this ratio =)))

I didn't have too hard a time wrapping a spaced coil as even as I could then squeezing the coil together while on the screwdriver.

Zvaper did a video about spiral coils being better than micro coils a while back. It's definitely worth a look.

I wasn't happy with my build on my FC Erlkonigin clone (#22628). It was kinda harsh with a micro coil and the metal drip tip would get hot. I tried a spiral coil and it definitely vapes better. It's a little cooler at the same watt settings and much smoother. It may have been the wicking. The drip tip still gets too hot for my tastes. I ordered this one because the description says it comes with a "Proprietary threaded plastic drip tip" and one reviewer said his came with the plastic and the metal drip tips. Mine only has the metal tip. It's a nice tank but it's loud (I knew that going in). I recommend the plastic DT version or even better, a Lemo. I definitely like that this one has a metal tank just in case the plastic one gets damaged. Overall, it works great but has a few drawbacks.

i'm tring my first build on the fc amod erlkonigin. getting some dry hits, even using koh gen do, with vertical tails trimmed in arrow shape. probably used too much cotton anyway (tried this after 2 leaking erls). will use less cotton in my next one, and will replace the coil with an spaced one.

i'd wish there were screws with inverse threading. they are a simple but effective way to make an spaced coil easily.

I got my one and only Erl clone with the little metal adapter at the drip tip. So you turn the metal bit instead of the drip tip but it lets you use standard tips. I've got a ceramic drip tip because I too found it was too hot with a metal tip. I honestly don't remember where I got it though and since I've recently purchased from a few different places along with focalecig can't say where to get one. The model I have doesn't excite me in any way. I'm much happier with the Rose V2 (with or without the stumpy kit focalecig offers), really like the Squape Reloaded for creams, custards or dairy and love the Fogger V4 and V5. I'm liking the Kayfun V4 too although the black one I just got from focalecig is being a PITA, with FC open it wants to flood. So I've been opening, taking a single vape, closing and then vaping until I can tell the wick is going dry. I'll have to break down and rewick it since the stainless steel one has been working well with no issues.

Arghh .. you beat me to using it once again :p Actually about to start on the IN'AX Nano today  And I thought USPS was off the holiday today?

    FC mail!

LPG and Hobo "kit" showed up this morning. I really dig this little guy. Built the Hobo with 28ga duals at .64ohm. It vapes like a champ and the quality of both pieces is very good. Definitely a keeper.
