I wrap everything on a broken 5/64ths drill bit. I really have no reason to order any coiling apparatus. I suppose if you are having issues getting your wraps tight it could help
For me it's more about being a total tool junkie! Thankfully, these are uber cheap compared to my firearms and automotive tooling...

I'm the same way, I wrap pretty good coils on a screwdriver, so don't see a need to spend money on a tool to do it, but sure these coilers help out a lot of people though.

thank you all, i reminded the nuts for the nutty sxmini in that pic.. will go on playing with colors.. was waiting for the chipset i needed for long, but at last found it, and Nikki and Jieyan made it possible

I love wrapping spaced coils on screws. That's when the little gadget really comes in handy - the screws that I use are too short to grab onto for tension. Then you can get it crazy tight and just unscrew the screw from the coil after it's all mounted. The only atty I can't do that with is, of course, the SqR, the one atty that I use every day (wants a coil in reverse).

other atties which need or prefer a "reverse" coil (rbas mostly, rdas use to allow both):
    old squape, of course,
taifun (if you removed the air tube, and want to keep the coil not so high from the hole),
erlkönigin (it's easier to catch the coil tails, if reverse),
kayfuns (3.1, lites) (if you use perpendicular coil, catching the coil tails is easier when reverse; if you use angle inclination, normal way gets the coil firmer).

Ah, then for the reverse coils you need to find left hand threaded screws. Not real popular but they are out there.

where can we find these? i thought they wouldn't exist! where, where, plz, plz =)))

about the kuros/master coilers.. i think that the main tool for tight coils are the ceramic tweezers: you save butane/battery and the result is immediate, even when your original coil was a mess. these can't be replaced by the coilers, because they are still useful when re-tightening while dry cleaning the coil or after you messed the coil while attaching it.
but the kuro/master coilers ensure uniform diameter and so better first version of the coil. this is an advantage for some of us.. and they come with attractive colors.. ;))

Wow got some speedy mail coming, my Marquis is already stateside, should have before the end of the week :D
wow, 3 days! that is instantaneous in my watch =))
will wait for your review of the marquis.. with the sxmini i'm enjoying the drippers, higher wattage while keeping good flavor (i'll might retry double coils, even), and would like to get a new one which uses one of the new ways of airing.. but which one? marquis/veritas, n22, samurai, lancia, airis, etc.? it won't be easy

I only ordered the Marquis on Thursday last week, think this may be a new record for me ordering from China :)

The marquis is a buy to go on my sx mini, I like the performance of the lancia and love how it looks, but even with a glass tank, I still over drip sometimes, so won't use on the sx mini, thinking the way marquis is designed, shouldn't get leaking problems, and I was also wanting to try one these new design drippers, think will be awesome on the sx mini in powerful mode ;)

    Sorry, never tried the Origen.

I lasted 2 visits before I was done with the FT thread. Even though I don't post here often, the people keep me coming back. They're usually very helpful and always a pleasure to talk to. Definitely a cut above.

Yeah, our FC peeps are lovely  This thread has more personality :) Although its a bit more subdued ever since Faith and Hope (Cranky and Laylel) checked out on me  Oh my the fun we used to have at times, especially when there was a late night cocktail involved

@inswva .. OMG .. I started the IN'AX today  My ceramic wicks fit fine, but I ran into a problem with my catch screws being a little too big. It wouldn't hold 27 gauge wire tight enough so that I had enough tension to wrap the wick.

Wrapped it from the bottom up which started great but then when I went to put the catch screw on it made the top coil stand out from the wick, so while it all lit up ok, the coils all need to be touching the wick. So .... I cut a piece of xc116 and threaded that on the center post, and because of its thickness it solved the issue of not being able to get all the coils to remain tight ... what a bish this was, but I got it done.

I don't like the fact that I can't meter the coil though so I have no idea what the resistance is and this makes me nervous because I am using AW's. But it works well, I just will not be chain vaping it. I figure the battery can handle burst, but I don't want to push it.

Left hand thread machine screws can be found from suppliers like McMaster-Carr. But I think what people are using are wood-type screws and/or drywall screws and I have personally never seen a LH threaded wood or drywall screw. These have different threads than what's used on machine screws.

Nikki, can't you take an ohmmeter and check the coil while it is attached after you make it

I can't lie .. I was thinking the same thing  I received four new RBA's last week, and I have not built a single one yet. I would love to do some rebuilding tomorrow but I need to get this Subtank review together .. sigh. I should be happy that the VF V2 clone is being held hostage by USPS, its not like I would use it right away

But you still can't have my blue Zero  But technically its not a Zero, its a Yosen SX which is their own creation, and it sys so on the battery cap too. "Yosen Creations"
