huh.... I wonder that detector uses to 'sense' the smoke, I never had any problems with mine in my apartment. In fact, it was always going off when I smoked, so much so that I disconnected it. When I stopped smoking in the house and was vaping heavily, I hooked it back up and even tried to set it off with vapor, but couldn't...

Those are either terrible or faulty smoke detectors because the vapor isn't "smoke" and shouldn't register as such. If that were the case then you wouldn't be able to use a room vaporizer for fear of the smoke detector going off. I would think that it was another reason that smoke detector went off, and conveniently (well, maybe not) it just happened while you were vaping.
