At least the clones - Honestly just get something else. There are many many many better options. My life is so much better since I picked up a different RDA.
Just posting this 'cause I keep seeing people talking about it, or even (shudder) recomending it.
-The walls are too high, making it a serious PITA to build
-The air holes are fixed-position, meaning you can't just put them in front of your coils - you can only build coils effectively in a single spot in either side
-It comes with a lame (IMHO) drip tip
-Although many RDA's have this design, it only has a single positive connection/hole, making it really hard to thread 2 or more larger leads.
-It has, like a few RDAs and their clones, hollow posts, again making it hard to thread wire unless it's perfectly straight (good luck managing that with the proximity -- like 3mm -- of the negative holes to the overly high fixed walls.)
Just a PSA - pass on it.
[edit after thread input: some of my criticism is based on low-quality clones, and for some strange reason my thinking the post-holes on the clones are supposed to be used, and not on the Omega proper per se, or even some of the clones. So, I'll say this: If you are actually planning on getting one, make sure to read this thread and get one that doesn't suck completely.]
***Dude don't let the owners make you edit the truth, it's just your opinion (a good one, I know because I'm an authentic owner), you see the same thing from anybody criticizing the oh-so-perfect provari, it happened to me recently, I basically said "there's more bang for your buck, if you want a vw mod" and they said "bow down to the almighty provari you freaking tool!". The provari is excellently crafted in every single way, I just didn't care for the safety limitations, and the vamo worked more for my needs as a coil builder, I don't use tanks...***
Seriously I hear that! PLEASE TRY THE CLONE PEOPLE! Being a newbie I bought the AUTHENTIC FOR
$100, as I became more experienced my rage began to grow and grow because for a "high end" RDA you seriously get the quality of a cheap fast-tech RBA. Some will argue that you just need to figure out how it works, what that translates to is "You need to try alot harder just to get it to work properly.", seriously for around the $100 price range, it's ridiculous how much better of an RDA you can buy.
All of these are usually cheaper, or around the same price, and they are 10x better, and give you 4x the variability for airflow, coil options, and quality of vapor:
-Castle RDA 1.5
-Zenith v2 (amaaazing)
-Brass Monkee (personally my favorite and way cheaper)
-dominator (comes with the most airflow options possible, and has a "push and shoot" install posts, close favorite of mine, clouds...)
-Atomic
-Trident (pretty darn awesome, but I wouldn't buy it again with whats out there)
-Lotus
Or if you want the similar "heat flange at the top" look, these are amazing too, and with clones that are completely identical:
-Nimbus RDA
-Patriot
I'm really not saying this to be facetious, I'm just trying to save anybody new to rebuildables some headache, and wallet hurt, because the origen WILL perform like most RDA's, but it's a pain to setup right and when you still get it perfected it's just average.
-I'm a semi-proud owner of the authentic simply because it's one of the first, but I don't prefer to use it anymore. I bought it because a crap-load of people were suggesting it and I thought it looked cool, and I realize now it was alot of money that could be spent on something much better with more options. The clone looks better actually because it has post holes that are lined up in front of the drip well airholes. I mean who thought it was a good idea to make a deep drip well that gets in the way of building, and then puts a big airhole in it, completely negates both benefits.
-It does look cool though, try the clone first.
