Whats your biggest analog craving trigger? Waking up? Eating? Driving?

If you quit smoking before you started vaping, how did you suppress it?

Does vaping completely sooth your craving?

This may have been talked about before... so excuse me if its a repeated thread, but i really think this is a good thing to talk about and could bring up some good information for people either quitting or using an ecig to quit...

My biggest trigger is getting into my car. I always lit a smoke as soon as i fastened my seat belt. Before vaping when i tried to quit, i used gum, which never worked because id always stop at a gas station to buy a pack of gum- but id always walk out with a pack of smokes.

vaping almost completely suppresses it for me. Not always, but it get me through the drive until i can get out of my car, then it eventually goes away.

So what about you?

Just sitting down to work. I work in the garage which was also the smoking room. I caught myself yesterday reaching for the pack that was always at my left hand side. It's not a craving, I haven't wanted a cig since I started vaping and still have an unopened pack. It's just a habit to reach for them. Over 35 years of dumb habit but I swore to myself I'll never open that pack. It's got my quit date on it in black sharpie and it's staying put.

I've yet to actually crave a cig since vaping: my juice is doing a perfect job of keeping physical cravings at bay. I agree with glasseye that it's more the habit that I'm having to break. Smoking in the car, breaks at work, after I eat, when I get bad news, with that first cup of coffee, when I'm mindlessly watching TV or typing up a rant for the intertubes. Those were ALL "smoke times". It's a physical habit, and I just have to train myself to reach for my PV instead of my cigs and lighter.

Speaking of which: those are still right by my chair. All the ashtrays are put away but the smokes are there if ever I want one. Almost a full week in and they haven't sounded good yet.

After a month, the first thing in the morning is when I crave... for years I had a routine; get up, start the coffee, feed the dogs, turn on computer, go outside for a smoke... I really need a high nic content vape (32 mg) and I still go outside but vape instead of smoke. Once that routine is satisfied I can drop to a 24 mg juice for the rest of the day and be good.

I'm still not ready to drop the nic below 24 though. I tried it at work today and nearly killed someone just before lunch...

I honestly haven't had any triggers. I bought my ego one day and I haven't looked back. My first juice and my ADV is a strong menthol. It gives me extreme throat hit and it completely ends any craving I may have.

Did you smoke menthols before?

Most people i know that vape use something with menthol. All of them are people who smoked Marlboro reds or Camel full flavors, and hated menthols. They say its the closest thing to a real cigarette they've tasted, but i have yet to try it in my PV...

I did smoke menthols before, but for some reason no other juice I try can give me the feel that menthol can. It's the closest I've gotten to it feeling like a regular cigarette. I ended up ordering a straight menthol juice and I put a few drops of that into every other juice I have and it makes it perfect for me. =]

Same situation! I work in the garage/smoking room too... I'd move my workstation, but on nice-weather days it drives me NUTS to sit inside the house staring at a wall while I work. Out here, I have a view of the outdoors, TV, and conversation with hubby during down-time. Biggest problem for me is cocktail time... that's when the itch hits me worst.

I still have triggers throughout the day that make me want to smoke but vaping solves that just as an analog would. However, there were two separate cases where I really really wanted an analog.

The first was throwing darts with friends. I used to play in a dart league and having a cig waiting for me after each throw was part of my routine. That was hard but chain vaping solved it. The second was sitting at a bar with my girlfriend having drinks and listening to a band play. After I had a few drinks I actually took a couple hits off my girlfriend's analog but immediately went back to my PV and all was good.
