Snuggie and sweats! Mike keeps the heat on broil (80)..but in the fla room ( a den with windows all around) where my dining room/office is stays at least 10 degree's cooler. It doesn't bother me until I go to bed..I am either sweating or freezing! Old men and menopause don't work well together!

*LOL* Don't understand men with blasting heat.... So when you were going through menopause you didn't know if the hot flashes were those, a heat wave, or if the heat was way up??

So since you have a snuggie, why don't you just wear your robe backwards?? *off other thread*

I've tried the robe on backwards way...it is too tight....and you can't really get it around the back..the snuggie has room to move in it !

But with it being looser, doesn't it fall off easier???
My mother and step father wanted them, so I bought them.. They used them for a week and said they hated them... So then I tried one and couldn't understand them since if I get cold (which is rare except for my feet), I use my sweat or thick velour-kinda jacket and wear it...

You throw it back over your shoulders far enough it wraps you up good ! I am one of those that just can't stand the cold !! 80 outside and I still have a cotton thermal blanket on my side of the bed !! (and socks !)

I'll try it ClassWife, could always use something else to throw on... With being so sensitive to the cold, I would have thought your thyriod was low...

Checked and re-checked.....have always been that way....my sister is the opposite....2 feet of snow and blowing wind and she sweats with a coat on !!!!

Woa.. That's something... I don't think I could handle being you or your sister... I have hypo-thyroid but the coldness was never the problem thank goddess...

You would think !!! We have very heavy frosts and wind......only coat cold for about 2 months tho.....shoulda move more south !!!!

One year we went to Disney World in November.. There were some locals there and they were yelling at us while we were swimming saying we were crazy because they all had jackets on and thought it was so cold *LOL*

LOL, brrrrrrrr, funny stories! I remember when I lived way up in NE Oregon, and when I got out of the car to go grocery shopping, the parking lot was a sheet of ice. I always fell at least 2ce before getting to the store. And forget about driving down the mountain routes with all the black ice, eeeek! I also remember wrecking my boyfriends brand new truck into a street light b/c I have a really hard time driving slowly. It's usually pedal to the metal if I think nobody's looking.

Now that I'm in SoCal (San Diego), I do miss the snow, but after reading these stories, I don't miss it that much, LOL. Actually, the feeling of being trapped makes me feel a little claustrophobic - even if it is in your own home.

That is the one thing I really dislike about my car, it tells me the temperature. Really once we get under 20 degrees I don't want to know. If it's -10 outside it's OK by me if my car just says "hey stupid what are you thinking?" I really don't need the constant reminder in front of me.

Kimerpuff, stay warm, sit in front of a nice fire, with a nice warm mug of hot coco. Snuggle up with your handsome man.... And enjoy the night.

The huricanes 5 years ago had us trapped in the house good and proper. Too scared to go out with trees falling and peoples roofs and BBQ-s going by and scared to stay in because we were worried about our roof! With all the windows boarded up and the wind howling...it wasn't fun.

I thought everyone that lived way up/out there had comfy warm cellars that they could live in for a month if they had to. That they are just one huge room under the house and a lot of ppl have pool tables, games and hot tubs in them. Or is that just wishful thinking?

Kids schools are all closed for tomorrow, that says a lot in the Chicago area. Hubby still has to work though. Poor guy.

Gosh, I hope hubby doesn't have an outdoors job?

I think god made men for days like these to snuggle up with! :)

Yeah, I think so too, b/c cold weather like that puts my nipps into a strut, and then they hurt something really fierce! Never hurts to have someone close by with a warm touch does it? (wink)

I went out to dinner recently and, OMG, the evening turned cold like down to 62-63, and I had a slipover sweater on. But see, I wore tight jeans, and I didn't have any panties on under them, b/c I didn't want panty lines showing through. With nipps in a strut and buns like chunks of ice, I was really miserable. Good thing I had a designated driver along that had a car all warmed up. IDK if there were any warm men nearby or not, b/c the dinner was at an upscale brewery, and I was already pretty brewed up, LOL. But anyway, that's okay, b/c my driver said I certainly did have a wonderful, fun time. Apparently I was having so much fun, I lip-locked some innocent soul on the parking lot on the way to the car. I was in a hurry, so I hope I wasn't too sloppy and abrupt, LOL.

And to echo classywife, above all, please be warm and safe dear lady friends.
