I was asking b/c I have heard how so many are so snowed in they can't move their cars, and some have to dig them out. I was wondering how the mailmen make it to work. Maybe the post office has furnished them with snowmobiles, do you think? Or maybe they pick them up in a sleigh? There's gotta be some pretty severe snowdrifts in PA.

Very curious -- is your mail still being delivered?

No idea.. I use a PO box because I live in a community that I'd have to drive to the gate to get my mail out of a small box anyway.. Plus if I get a package I'd have to pick it up at the post office anyway...

This is what I get for living in the Pocono mountains... gggrrr...

Have been snowed in for about a week already (again)... Happens every year on the average...

Do you have enough food and heat? According to the Google News Page weather forecasts I've seen, the outlook for this week is pretty dismal. If you're lacking, now might be a good time to call your volunteer services center. Maybe they could sled you in stuff.

Ah, Lisa, I wish I had a magic weather wand to wave for you. Just keep layering clothing to keep warm and check out some Eddie Murphy movies to keep your spirits up. I wanted to live in Encinitas too, but I couldn't find what I wanted at the time I needed a home. I really, really love Oceanside, though, as it's not so populous as other places in San Diego Co. and it's so green and lush. I did walk down to the beach a few days ago, and the wind blowing in off the sea is pretty frigid. brrrrr. -6 sounds unbelievable to me.

I would fear for you if you moved too far south in FL. Isn't that where all the hurricanes, typhoons, tsunamis and reptiles are? I don't remember what they're called -- alligators or crocodiles. I always forget.

OT: Do you know where Ocala, FL is? If so, is it a big city? Sorry for the hijack, but I'm just curious.

I thought clogs were rubber shoes, and crocs were giant alligators, LOL.

Our mudslides are bad, EQs not so bad so far (just makes your heart stop for a few seconds), but our yearly wildfires are the scariest of anything else I've been through! I was surrounded by fire three years ago, and thanks to every marine on the Pendleton Marine Base fighting the fire and all the water drops from their aircraft, it was contained well away from the base. See, they don't want a hole put into the continent by all the dynamite, ammo and bombs going off uncontrollably. That would be a shame, right?
