Ok, this post is not for the enthusiast, the vaping hobby person, or the early adopters. If you are one of these folks, have the cash and love it, more power to you. I appreciate you testing out and reviewing all the stuff for me, the more thrifty vaper.
We continue to see a lot of posting here about vaping costs and how people aren't saving money and so on. There's a lot of marketing noise on this site so I would just like to offer you a bit of a plan than CAN save you money, especially over the long haul.
Vape nerd's plan to save you money
1. Get yourself at least 4 decent batteries. And by this i mean Egos, Kgos, Ego twists, or two tube mods with 4 batteries. It doesn't matter so much on the brand as this is pretty much a setup cost. Get something relatively durable. Cig lookalike batteries are not in this category in my opinion, but if they work for you, so be it.
2. Get yourself a pack of the ultimate clearomizers. Got Vapes sells these things under the name of fluxomizer, but you can buy them much more cheaply (and with less drama) at MVS. 510 Ultimate CE2 Clearomizer XL
3. Go onto youtube and figure out how to completely take these things apart, clean them, dry burn them and so on. I have found that with proper care you can get 100 ml of juice through these, sometimes more. I've got a few that are 6 months old and still vape like a champ.
4. Juice. I DIY and if you really want to get to maximum savings, I recommend it. The savings on shipping costs alone with juice orders is worth it. However, if you do not want to fool with this, even juice from a mid price range vendor like say Backwoods Brew, Highbrow, Vermillion River, etc., you will save tons of money.
5. You will want to avoid ECF for a bit. I know, i know, reading and learning is essential. What you don't see though is that the more reading and learning you are doing, the more you are feeding your mind with ideas of why you must try new things. You do not need these items to vape. Even if you can't stand clearos, a carto tank would provide almost the same amount of cost savings.
6. This is very important. Resist the urge to buy new things. What I've done and you can do is calculate your savings from smoking. Say you are looking a the latest and greatest shiny new mod. You want it so bad. Ok, fine. Do this. Calculate the savings and allow yourself half of those savings to buy mods, new delivery systems or whatever you'd like to experiment with. Even if they are total junk, you are still way ahead.
I have been doing this for more than a year now. I do sometimes buy mods and tanks etc, but I do it in a reasonable way. Money can certainly be saved with vaping. You just have to cut down on buying every new thing that comes out.
My vaping costs are under 15 cents per day.
