i kind of know that feeling - quit cigs 15 years ago... started smoking the 'occasional' cigar 5 years ago... was up to 3 a day when I started vaping
When I restarted, I quickly went from occasional to over 30 a day rolling my own, worse than before I stopped.
I'd never heard of ecigs back then, was the patches and gum helped me stop.
Funny with vaping, I still feel like I smoke...................

Quitting smoking is the hardest thing I've ever done. I'm only on my 3rd month but no matter how much I want to smoke, quitting is one thing I never want to do again. Just wondering what brings you back after not smoking for 5 years?
That's simple coolvapes........stupidity :)

I did the same thing. Quit several times, sometimes for years. Started again because the craving never went away completely. Not really the craving for nicotine (or whatever else is in cigarettes) but the craving to smoke. Inhaling the smoke, exhaling the smoke. The taste of the smoke even though it doesn't really taste good.

I think that's the reason vaping works so well for me. I get to "smoke" without actually smoking.

Hey gandymarsh, people used to laugh at me when I said that I actually enjoyed smoking, but I did.
My health suffered though and I agree with you that vaping works great, for me too.
When I'm vaping NET (which is all I do) I really feel like I'm still smoking...

I think a lot of people do like to smoke. Many people are also suffering from cognitive dissonance. They know it's bad for them but they ignore that because they don't want to quit.

We had a new member here awhile back that was convinced that smoking isn't harmful. The only reason he wanted to start vaping was that the cost of cigarettes has gone up dramatically over the years. He also claimed that the anti-smoking efforts were all a conspiracy cooked up just to raise tax revenue. This was a highly educated person not someone you would expect to think that way.

Interesting...I think he'll find that vaping isn't cheap if he becomes addicted to that, trying different hardware and juices, etc.

Stalked for around a while now, coming in here for motivation and future tips from veterans or alikes.

So when I questioned myself why couldn't I cut it off completely.. 2 reasons;

Socializing Habit & Smoking is and still enjoyable for me.

Knowing that I can't get the hook off easily, glad that I'm taking it a step at a time using PVs to balance and cut down analogues when I'm alone.

Now an occasional stick seems to be much more enjoyable, unlike times when I was on a pack a day.

All in all, Vaping has really given me a balance in life that I've lost for a long time.

Hi Hysterix, we're all different, main thing is you're happy with what you're doing!
I only quit smoking because I wanted to, my health was suffering.
I loved smoking, that's why I vape NET only and it's working for me.
Good luck :)
