Former Winston Man becomes Cig-a-like spokesmen

Former Winston man, turned anti-tobacco zealot, has now become a spokesmen for a cig-a-like company. Don't know much about American Heritage

I have personal opinions of David Goerlitz, and few of them favorable. He has been a leech on tobacco users for a long time. First he made lots of money as the Winston man, then more money as a spokesmen for anti-tobacco zealots, and now more as a spokesmen for a cig-a-like company.

But maybe we need a few on our side--for a change. They know how the game is played.

He started out as a dumb, good looking guy that got a job in modeling. When he saw the damage of his product, he went with the "good guys". Then he found the "good guys" weren't. When I read this announcement, knowing this was another cigalike company, I quickly commented to him via social media-

David, hopefully you will come to realize that the cigalike will only satisfy a certain portion of the smoking population. They worked, somewhat, for me in breaking my 2-3 PAD habit down to 6 cigarettes for about 6 months, but by that time I really wanted to get off the real ones and looking more closely at what was available and other alternatives. APVs with their larger batteries as well as more advanced heating elements have a place in this market as well as the various flavors that many people prefer to tobacco or menthol.

There is also the lies about smokeless products such as Swedish snus that for some work wonders in eliminating smoking. There is actually much more scientific research done on snus than e cigs at this point and they actually represent the same risks to ex-smokers that completely quitting does.

I agree. Cigalikes will only work for those who really want the alternative. For the most part, the smokers who will never quit should still be respected and opportunities still always be an option if they ever wish to change. As I stated, THEIR CHOICE, not big brothers. I'll take the chance with him as we need all the allies we can foster.
