Forum Graphics?

So I am a forum junky as I said in my intro. I run lots of vBulletin forums. I am also pretty good with template design, graphics, etc.

I have noticed, please, no offense intended, that the site here is a little lacking somewhat in the graphics dept. I mean it doesnt look bad by any means...really...but I think maybe a little tweak here and there might liven it up a bit.

I post this cause IDK, maybe you guys are working on a new template or something, I know how these things go. Lets say though I were to offer up some buttons to replace the stocker vB ones...would they be put to use if you all (the admins/members/etc) liked them?

I tend to agree.....I dont particularly CARE because its a GREAT forum and has answered every question Ive ever asked, is full of friendly people with great senses of humor, and where else would I get a fix for expensive mods that I dont even remotely need but cant resist???? But some color and style would be nice instead of the paperbag, cookie cutter forum pages that are displayed. I use the "black & blue" from the style chooser, and its easier on the eyes, but it doesnt have the notification icon for threads that Ive replied to. Then again.....Im the new guy, what the heck do I know?

exactly, i love love love this forum and i have only been here a few days. i love helping people that help people as well though, which is why i offered.

this forum is DYNOmite just the way it is, for sure, no complaints.

Call me dull and boring but I like it without all the bells and whistles that slow your computer down. I have FIOS 25meg service so it doesnt affect me but a lot of people out there are on dial up and have old 800mhz computers with 512 ram. I love cool graphics as much as the next guy...but just not on a forum. OK...I'm done...

i did look at pm'n angusatat but it seems i dont have enough posts maybe to contact him...no worries i will soon (i think)

and it wouldn't add any load, just replacement images is all. ill mock something up tomorrow.

Check with Angus, before you do too much work. There is a team on the ECF, that handles the website side of things. Although, I am sure that your offer will be appreciated.

I agree CJ, I think that member participation is great, after all it's our forum. I have no say in what management will do, so that's why I cautioned him. It's not my decision to make.

SmokeyJoe, the forum's founder here. Thank you very much for your kind offer - I have forwarded this on to Rolygate, the site manager, to take a look at (I'm not involved in the site design issues any more).

I do agree with you that the design is looking a little, ahem, dated and definitely needs some input!
